WotW Round 1: Mechani-Kong vs. Showa Moguera

Post by Zarm »

Match 15: Mechani-Kong vs. Showa Moguera

Mechani-Kong
Image
Mechani-Kong is scaled to 50 meters and 45,000 tons. Mechani-Kong is an independent entity demonstrating the same intelligence as he did when under Dr. Who’s control. There is no external human interference or control signal to interrupt.

vs.

Moguera
Image
Moguera is 50 meters tall and weighs 50,000 tons. Showa Moguera is an independent entity demonstrating the same intelligence as the unit under Mysterian control (and in case of any varying attributes, is considered to be the first of the two Mogueras). There is no external human interference or explosives in this match.

Arena: The side of a stone retention wall (Moguera has a perch within the hole that it drilled to emerge). Falling is not considered a defeat for either kaiju unless it can be demonstrated that a 20-meter fall into water would destroy them.

Please place your votes in bold, and including your reasoning is appreciated. Voting may now commence!

Showa Moguera

Sure, Mechani-Kong was able to beat King Kong a few times, only because he has a light on his head and flashed his high beams during night time. Moggy has NO cares for lights when his EYES ARE LITERAL LIGHTBULBS.

Oh, and the fact Moguera has weapons.

Mechani Kong has practically nothing to use against a robot like Moguera. If he tries the light flash, which considering its most likely day time wouldn't even help a whole lot against an organism, he's just getting eye beamed. The intense heat Moguera generates probably won't help MK either. Moguera's pathetic, but Mechani Kong makes him look deadly.

Going with Mechani Kong. Moguera acts like a tank so his strategy is just move and shoot. Mechani-Kong can at least act more intelligently, can actually melee and has the grenades which if dynamite can break a Moguera, massive grenades will shred him.

Mechani-Kong
"...A great love is a lot like a good memory. When it's there, and you know it's there, but it's just out of your reach, it can be all that you think about. You can focus on it, and try to force it, but the more you do, the more you seem to push it away. But if you're patient, and you hold still, then maybe... Just maybe... It will come to you."

Just because a monster never used it in the battle, doesn't mean he can't use it. We are judging these characters at their maximum potential, and it would be foolish if we at the very least didn't consider ALL ways to victory. Also, Kong is smart enough to catch and throw back so it may explain why. Unless Moguera head buts it back, I doubt he can dodge them.

Also, this Moguera again is a basic tank. Mechani Kong melee wasn't great but ANY melee will give him the win. :huge:

See, the enclosed space actually gives Mechani-Kong an edge here, as it lets Mechani-Kong get closer than it would otherwise. Because of this, Moguera's lack of melee capabilities will really be exposed. The terrain actually basically decided this match. Mechani-Kong

His mele consist of 'blinding the enemy and punching' Since his light won't work on Mogeura, who's eyes are literally lights, he's screwed. And I guess just because Space Godzilla never used his thicc ass cheeks as battering rams in battle, he could still use em. -_-

Mechani Kong wins because Moguera can take blows and explosions in his film, was defeated the first time by falling face first over. And the one thing Mechani Kong can do is push him over.

I've been convinced, Mechani-Kong wins. Moguera has a crippling weakness to falling, and the environment spells doom for him. This isn't an instant win, there will be a struggle, which Moguera does have a decent chance of winning, but Mechani-Kong takes it.

You do realize that the 'falling over' was blowing up the ground under him and causing him to fall off a cliff, right?

^ Yes. Upon further thinking, Moguera won't die immediately from being knocked off its perch, or just knocked over, but it still won't be in the best condition. Moguera wouldn't be able to do anything if it gets knocked on its back, allowing Mechani-Kong to basically do whatever it wants. It probably won't use its grenades while in a fight, but when Moguera is immobilized...

And before you say "we never saw him use grenades on Kong" MK still has grenades, and if he's as intelligent as if Dr Who was controlling him, I'd say it's not completely out of the question.

Didn't Showa Moguera get destroyed from simply falling over? That's pretty skreeonking fragile as oppose to falling from a great height.

No? I just said, it was destroyed when it fell off a cliff after having a bridge exploding under it.
And before you say "we never saw him use grenades on Kong" MK still has grenades, and if he's as intelligent as if Dr Who was controlling him, I'd say it's not completely out of the question.
For the three confrontations Kong had with MechaniKong, Mechani never used his grenades, meaning he most likely isn't going to use them. Even then, MechaniKong won't be able to 'grapple' Moguera, again something he didn't show properly, since Moguera has the extra ability of it's metal body being so hot with radioactive heat, to evaporate rivers in seconds. Radiation was the reason Dr. Who went to get Kong in the first place, as it completely fried MechaniKong's controls.

And before anyone says: The only times Mechani punched Kong was when he blinded Kong with his light on the top of his head during the middle of the night.

And let's plays devil's advocate. MechaniKong's grenades took repeated blast in one spot to make a perch MechaniKong was standing on crumble away.

The most intensely-contested match of the round closes voting with Mechani-Kong pulling out a somewhat-surprising win! Savor it folks- probably the only time you're going to see a Mechani-Kong win in the TK forums in your lifetime...
