^They can screw this movie up. But I'm optimistic about it, because Legendary Pictures knows what happened with D&E. People weren't happy, and releasing a shitty movie would result in even more backlash.

That's the only reason I remain cautiously optimistic about this flick. There's already been a perfect example of how to make a SHITTY Godzilla movie, and Legendary had better keep thinking back on that debacle whenever somebody makes a dumbass suggestion.

I'm pretty sure LP watched G'98 and toke notes on fans..."issues" with it so they know what kind of film NOT to make and avoid all together. Can they still make a bad film? Yes but if they are taking the backlash from the last remake serious at all I think even if they screw it up it G 98 would still be the bigger skreeonk up.

Exactly. We'll get a Japanese-style Godzilla (who looks like him, has atomic breath and is immune to most weapondry) in full CGI facing off a monster...the story could be nothing but the characters farting, and it would still be a better Godzilla movie than GINO.
