The street of Canberra were quiet and empty. The city had been evacuated in anticipation of the destructive even about to take place. For days, a strange earthquake with a moving epicenter had been tracked moving across Australia. The phenomena had puzzled experts until a scientist from Japan was brought in. The older man- a veteran of his country's kaiju attacks- quickly recognized what was happening- a giant monster was burrowing underground. But which one? Baragon? Zilla? Megalon? And why was it so constant and straight in its path? Was it chasing something? Or was it just following its instinct?

All those questions were going to be answered today.

A gentle wind moved through the city, rattling leaves with a soft rustle. Then, a shiver ran through the ground, shaking all the buildings with a gritty rumble. The shaking gained strength, windows shattering and supports giving way. The shaking climaxed to a violent tremor, several tall building collapsing and sending great billows of dust into the sky. The street split open, debris flung into the air. A vast spiked carapace emerged from the crack, destroying the street. Several hundred tons of cement rubble were pushed up as an enormous creature rose from the ground. A stout, muscular body appeared from beneath the spiny carapace. A long tail covered with jagged, ivory thorns whipped up. A head armed with long, slender, crocodile jaws thrust up, the fanged maw cracking open to unleash a high, haunting wail. As the beast pulled itself free from its tunnel, its hard amber eyes glinted in the harsh sunlight.

Anguirus had arrived.

Lips curling, the ancient reptile let out another wail, the cry rising to a sharp, piercing honk that punctuated the distinctive roar. Anguirus growled softly, nostrils greedily sucking in air. There was a foul creature here, a being that couldn't be left unchallenged. Prehistoric eyes narrowing, the ankylosaur wailed a third time, calling out the enemy he knew to be near.

From out of a sewer grate on a Canberra, a thick black sludge oozed along the curb. It stretched further down the quiet street, slowly consuming an entire car. Silently, two eyes rolled out of the blackness and aligned themselves. Two appendages poked out of the blob and straightened the whole mass out. The great pollutant beast grew steadily larger, taking up the entire street. At this point, many people had taken notice and were fleeing for their lives. Hedorah gurgled and was ready to enjoy his reign in the land down under. No more Godzilla. No more of his spunky friends that always tagged along with him. The Smog Monster sweeped into downtown, releasing deadly fumes into the air. The city was his for the taking!

But wait...something wasn't right.

A herd of people were running towards Hedorah. Something else was here. Whatever it was, Hedorah was more than ready to get down to business. He wanted to have his own personal punching bag anyways.

When this fight was happening, a primitive beast that lived on monster island, and went out in search of food, went towards this area. He saw two kaiju as they stared off at each other. One was an armored tank, and although thought to be weak, has a big fighting spirit.

The other one was a deadly mutation, made by human pollution, and even certain types of waste. Including his own...

The saurian revealed itself as Gorosaurus. A deadly dinosaur kaiju that just walked out from his home, and still searching for food, as previously stated. He snarled at the sight of these two kaiju. Are they foes? Maybe, then again, maybe not. He would've decided to eat the corpse of the one who dies, but...Theres a chance that it'll not be as good as he expected..

He looked at both sides one last time, and let out his signature roar. This only meant one thing for the two kaiju who were in the middle of the brutal fight to become...

FIGHT!!

Anguirus snarled at Hedorah, eyes steely chips of hate. The black, decaying beast was unnatural, poisoning the land, air, and water with its very presence. Such a monstrosity had to be stopped, no matter the cost. Rearing to his hind legs in a war howl, Anguirus threw himself into a spirited charge, claws tearing the street asunder as he thundered towards the towering heap of pollution.

With a sharp honk, Anguirus slammed his forelegs into Hedorah, toppling the mineral creature. The Smog Monster fell back with a string of gurgled croaks, crying out in distress as it smashed into a building. Eyes widening in horror, Anguirus soon added his own cry, wailing in pain as his flesh sizzled. The Mesozoic throwback pulled back with a scream, nearly flipping over on his spiny carapace. Rising into a bipedal position, the spiked dinosaur turned his palms to inspect the damage. Hedorah's corrosive body had eaten away at Anguirus's flesh, destroying skin and muscle. Both his front paws were red and angry, blood trickling down his forearms. In the deepest gouges, the dull shine of bone was visible. Wincing as dropped to all fours, putting weight back on his forelimbs, Anguirus glared at Hedorah. This was going to be tougher that he thought. He couldn't touch the foul beast without sustaining damage himself. Anguirus's lip twitched. Rising from the rubble of the building it crushed, Hedorah cackled, waving its dripping arms to and fro. The polluted giant seemed to be laughing a Anguirus. The great reptile cast a hard gaze at Hedorah.

The filthy creature would pay!

Sounding off with his unmistakable war cry, Anguirus charged again. Scooping up a large truck as he ran, the saurian brawler pounced. With a vicious snarl, Anguirus smashed the truck into Hedorah's face! The vehicle bent and crumpled, sparks flying as metal was ground together. The sparks ignited some oil- a recent meal by the Smog Monster- running down Hedorah's head. A fireball bloomed from the alien being's body, searing his face and chest with a loud hiss. Hedorah croaked in pain as the intense, but brief, heat engulfed him. The disgusting creature stumbled backwards, clumsy footsteps rocking the city.

Leaping towards the rumble of the building that crumbled under Hedorah's weight earlier, Anguirus wheeled around in a mighty circle. His long, heavy tail struck the debris, sending a wave of concrete, metal, and glass at the Smog Monster...

Hedorah took the blow reluctantly. He was swept through a shopping mall and then thrust into the next street. Quickly, Hedorah regained his composure. Even though he had a clear advantage, here he stood slightly charred and frustrated. No matter. He had devilish plans in store for the ankylosaurus. His eyes closed and he staggered through the crumbled mall, gurgling in false pain. Anguiras immediately was on the charge...just as Hedorah had hoped. He outstretched one arm, just far enough to clothesline Anguiras. The dinosaur tumbled onto his back and kicked helplessly. The Smog Monster took the opportunity to fire his Crimson Ray at his foe's exposed stomach. A blast of sparks and fire erupted, but it hadn't done as much as Hedorah he hoped. He fired a pair of sludge bombs at Anguiras. Each one met the scaly skin with a painfully loud hiss. The acid tore away at Anguiras, and Hedorah enjoyed every moment of it. He lifted both arms and prepared to deal a double fist strike to Anguiras's damaged stomach...

(I don't see why not, but better run that through Gorosaurus Rex first, just in case.)

Adrenaline shooting through his veins like fire, Anguirus burst into action. His spiny tail whipped up like a medieval flail, delivering a sharp, upward blow to Hedorah's head. The Smog Monster gurgled in surprise as his face was spattered, and stumbled backwards, falling flat on its back with a great splat! Anguirus gritted his teeth as deadly sludge burn at his flesh, dissolving several of the spikes on his tail. Rolling to his feet, the ancient dinosaur wailed at Hedorah as the foul creature failed on the ground, flinging clumps of acidic muck onto the street. Lips curling to reveal his savage set of fangs, Anguirus honked a vulgarity. Snatching up a light post in his great jaws, the primeval reptile ripped the metal rod from the concrete it was planted in. Positioning the light post in his maw almost like a toothpick, Anguirus let loose a battle cry and charged.

Hedorah, his face now completely reform and eyes glowing crimson, rose from the ground with wrathful croaking. As evil thoughts of torture of death crept into the alien being's wicked mind, the light post in Anguirus's jaws was thrust through his head. Hedorah screamed in pain, a spasm running through his mineral-composed body. As he had risen, Anguirus had pounced, closing the distance in one great bound. Jerking back with a muffed honk, Anguirus ripped the light post out from the polluted creature's head, splitting it in two. As the prehistoric brawler landed heavily on his forelegs, Hedorah scrambled backwards, his head in gooey strips of sludge.

Whipping his head forward, Anguirus cracked open his jaws and flung the now mangled light post like a massive throwing knife. The twisted, melted length of metal whirled towards Hedorah with a deep, throbbing thump...

Hedorah groaned as the post broke through his skin. While it hurt, his corrosive innards took care of it in a matter of seconds. The Smog Monster shivered, gathering up all his strength. Anguiras was on his A-game today, and Hedorah needed a bit of strategy and luck to get out if this unscathed. He fired a Crimson Ray at the ever-aggressive dinosaur. Anguiras was thrust back into several buildings. He followed it right up by grabbing Anguiras by his forepaws and dragging him through the rubble, letting the acids and rubble do their worst to the helpless Kaiju. Then with a mighty heave, Hedorah flung the ankylosaurus into the air. He landed in an intersection, leaving behind a large crater. Hedorah gurgled and released his sludge. He was going to drown Amguiras.

(I'm just gonna say I shouldn't. Hell, I already have a unfair advantage. You're quite the opponent though. Good luck, Hayes, ol' sport)

(Thank ye.)

Rolling to his feet, Anguirus snorted irritably. Rolling his shoulders, the slate-gray reptile shook a few tons of rubble from his carapace. A sharp pain suddenly shot up one of his back legs. Jerking the limb away, Anguirus whipped around with a distressed wail. A slow flow of deadly sludge was creeping down into the pit, dissolving concrete and metal like paper. At the edge of the crater, Hedorah, the source of the black river of death, was cackling. Anguirus snarled. The alien being's gurgled voice drove fury into the dinosaur, making his curl his lip. In his rage, he tried to charge the heap of minerals, but acidic goo splashed across his forelegs with sharp hisses. With a pained howl, the ancient beast reared back, nearly falling over onto his spiked carapace. Frantically grinding his tainted limbs against the ground, Anguirus managed to wipe the sticky substance off before it ate down to the bone. Hedorah's croaking laughter grew louder.

A pair of amber eyes narrowed.

Determined orbs darting about the crater, the ankylosaur quickly located the slope that would be easiest to scale. Scrambling up the steep incline, clawing down small avalanches of debris, Anguirus made his way up. Hedorah, seeing his foes trying to escape, ceased excreting sludge and started to amble down himself.

Too bad Anguirus wasn't running away.

Wheeling around near the top of the crater, Anguirus assaulted Hedorah with a long wail. The Smog Monster paused in confusion. Charging down the slope, the prehistoric brawler gained momentum as he thundered towards his corrosive foe. Suddenly shifting all his weight forward, Anguirus launched into a flip, his spiny carapace swinging out towards Hedorah. The oily beast was thrown back by an enormous impact, the ankylosaur's hard shell literally smashing his face in. With a scream, the polluted creature landed flat on his back, body splattered and leaking. Hedorah's horizontal crimson eyes blinked hard, the formless blob of a monster stunned.

A terrible creaking rose into the air.

A tall building bear the edge of the pits was wavering. At its base, Anguirus was braced against it and pushing with all his might. After a tense moment, the towering structure gave way. With a low groan, the skyscraper toppled, its shadow engulfing Hedorah.

BOOM!

The huge crater was now overflowing with rubble, twisted metal, and shattered glass. Somewhere deep under all the debris, Hedorah was smash and strained into gooey black bits. Jaws curling in what was almost a smile, Anguirus wailed in satisfaction. With a great kick of his back legs, the Mesozoic reptile pounced, planning to land on and compact the heap that buried Hedorah, further tearing the alien creature apart...

Hedorah wouldn't stand for this. Anguiras was an insolent pest, for crying out loud. Losing to him was humiliating beyond words. His anger boiled into one nasty plot, one that was as sinister as the crimson full moon. Anguiras leapt into the air, believing he was going to win. Boy, was he mistaken. A black arm shot out of the rubble and caught Anguiras in the jaw, sending the ankylosaurus flying out of the crater and into a building. The smog monster slowly crept out of the crater, one of the folds in his body resembling a malicious grin. Anguiras came at him again, but like last time, he was met with a corrosive fist to the face. Anguiras fell back onto a gas station, sending a massive ball of fire into the night sky. Anguiras flailed about, kicking up dirt and rubble. Fiery bits of cement and metal harmlessly pelted Hedorah. He gurgled. See? This wasn't so hard after all. The smog monster fired his Crimson Ray into the dust cloud. The hissing of burnt flesh could be heard, followed by a wail from his enemy. Good...very good. Hedorah lifted his arm to fire a sludge ball...

Swinging his arm, Hedorah flung a gooey blob of his own body towards the dust cloud. Maniacal crooking accompanied the ball of deadly black sludge as it soared through the air, a few string of oily gunk trailing behind it like a comet's tail.

Hedorah's laughter caught in his throat as something was thrown back at him in return.

A flaming car flew out of the fading dust cloud and collided with the slime ball. Igniting, the fiery counter-projectile exploded in a small fireball, peppering Hedorah with bits of flaming metal and muck. The Smog monster backpedaled, dripping arms waving in distress. As the polluted being regained his footing, the dust cloud settled, revealing Anguirus. The ancient beast was crouched low, eyes two flecks of hellfire and long fangs showcased in a grimace. Angry red burns covered the ankylosaur's face and a particularly ugly scar cut across his brow, courtesy of Hedorah's jagged ray. Hedorah was a fearless and wicked creature, but even he could help but shiver under Anguirus's furious glare. Lip twitching, the dinosaur let out a low, dangerous growl. If Hedorah though he would sit there and be treated like some weak, inferior creature, he was dead wrong.

Howling his distinctive battle cry, Anguirus whipped around and swatted a double-decker tour bus with his spiny tail. The large vehicle whistled through the air and planted itself deep into Hedorah's dribbling forehead. Crimson eyes rolling up in an attempt to see the object lodged in its cranium, Hedorah swayed. Then, like a vast, foul tree from a strange alien world, the tower of living minerals fell. With a slow gurgle, the stunned monstrosity toppled, the street shattering under its weight.

An idea forming in his head, Anguirus turned around and galloped in the opposite direction. Coming to a bridge, the reptilian giant thrust his crocodile head under it. With a swift, upward motion, he speared a long section of the structure on the bony crown on his skull and his nasal horn. The rest crumbled away, leaving Anguirus with an odd helmet of sorts resting on his head.

The bus now complete melted down, Hedorah slowly rose, evil glowing in his horizontal eyes. Then a soft rumble ran up his trunk-like legs. The rumbling increased, bits of rubble and debris on the ground shaking and tumbling about. With a tremendous yowl, Anguirus roared into sight, head lower and what appeared to be a sheet of cement clinging to his skull. The prehistoric brawler rammed his head into Hedorah's gut, sending a powerful shock wave tearing into the gooey beast's body. The force of the massive headbutt lifted the larger monster up and off his feet, sending Hedorah backwards. The alien being crashed into a building. One side of the skyscraper collapsed around him, burying his lower half. Loud hissing filled the air and a potent burning smell drifted to the heavens, signs that the Smog Monster's acidic body was doing its job. Anguirus shook his head, the remains of his makeshift helmet crumbling away. It had prevented him from actually touching Hedorah's corrosive body, leaving only the ivory tips of his horns sizzling.

With a fierce wail, Anguirus reared up on his hind legs. Then, with a grunt of effort, he slammed his forelegs back down into the earth. The great impact sent a tremor into the ground, threatening to make the rest of the skyscraper Hedorah lay in collapse and entomb him...

Anguiras landed, sending the rest of the tower crumbling onto Hedorah. There was a muffled gurgle that was his only struggle. Anguiras huffed and pawed at the ground, unsatisfied by the simplicity of beating Hedorah. There was a black blindly that engulfed the skyscraper, but it was only the glass reflecting the pale moon's chilling light. Anguiras stepped forward cautiously. He had been fooled once already, and he didn't want to repeat his mistake. This time could be fatal. Another step. The building groaned, and Anguiras backed up. The remaining structure it had crumbled onto the ground. There wasn't a sign of Hedorah. Nothing. Not even an arm or a piercing red eye. Where was--

BOOM!

Anguiras was uprooted from his firm stance as Hedorah's massive form broke through the street. He had secretly slipped into the sewers and sneaked away, much to Anguiras's dismay. The dinosaur tumbled back into a perpendicular street. Before he could even react, he was attacked again. Hedorah's fist clonked Anguiras on the head, breaking the cement helmet he had forged. The dazed Kaiju stumbled back, but it didn't prevent anything. Hedorah's Crimson Ray met his skin once more, burning away at the scaly flesh. Hedorah grabbed a car and crushed it in his hand before chucking it at Anguiras...

Hissing in pain, Aguirus rolled his shoulder, where a brand new burn sent waves of pain through his body. After a spike in discomfort, the motion dulled the pain. Snarling, the spiny quadruped turn to wail at Hedorah, showing the alien being he was far from done.

WHAM!

The crushed hull of a car slammed into Anguirus, striking him directly between the eyes. The ankylosaur let out a sharp honk as the car bounced off his hard skull, jumping back in shock. A paw rose up instinctively to grasp the smarting area. A gentle wetness told Anguirus that the blow had drawn blood. Hedorah leaned back with a delighted cackle, long arms fling bits of acidic slime everywhere as he laughed wickedly. Anguirus snarled, pupils shrinking to pinpoints. He was tired of this disgusting thing and its laughter!

Gurgled croaking fading, Hedorah calmed himself, ready to loose another blast of his jagged crimson ray. But before the heap of pollution could make any move, a large boulder of concrete smashed into him with a wet splatter, burying itself halfway into his gooey mass. Hedorah screamed in surprise and pain. Another piece of cement- smaller than the last, but in a sharper shape- hit him as well, lodging itself even deeper into Hedorah. The oiling beast's cries increased as he felt his body begin to loose structure. Lifting evil eyes, the foul creature saw the not-quite-unexpected source of the projectile- Anguirus. The dinosaur was facing way from his, tailed raised high and lashing angrily. The ancient scraper was tearing at the street with his claws, uprooting great chunks and shards of concrete and asphalt. And as he did, he would push them towards his hind legs and kick them at Hedorah with all his might. Many missed, damaging building or crushing cars, but many others hit their mark. One after another, the makeshift missiles struck Hedorah, further tearing his body apart. Pained shrieks rose for the horrible creature with each successful strike. Soon, Hedorah was barely holding together, pieces concrete, cement, and asphalt of every shape and size jutting from his body. As he swayed dangerously, he looked like some kind of hideous golem of stone and tar. Happy with his work, Anguirus stopped digging, turned around, gave Hedorah what could almost be called a sly grin, and charged.

Hedorah was blasted apart as Anguirus's full weight struck the stone shards in his body, ramming them forward and tearing the polluted being to bits. Wailing spiritedly, Anguirus reared to his hind legs in celebration. But he knew he hadn't won just yet. Even as he dropped back down to his forelegs, the still living scraps of Hedorah's body were oozing together, growing fewer and larger. Spying an oil tanker leaking its flammable cargo into the street near the center of the gooey masses, Anguirus recognized its potential as a weapon. With a small swipe of his paw, the Mesozoic brawler sent a flaming piece of metal from the earlier gas station explosion into the air, making a bright arc down towards the pool of gasoline and the pieces of Hedorah that surrounded it...

Hedorah melted into the oil, erupting into a blazing inferno. Had Anguiras foreseen Hedorah's tough outer skin he had developed over the course of the fight, he would have had second thoughts about his next decision. The oil and Hedorah ignited in flames. Anguiras snorted and clapped his front paws together in satisfaction. Then something stirred in the flaming spill. A fiery arm shot out, burning Anguiras's snout. He stumbled back and collapsed, dumbfounded. Then Hedorah flew out of the flames, leaving behind a burning shell.

Hedorah flew overhead, still exceeding his fumes. He was okay, only a slight burn on the corner of his eye. He had to be a little but more careful where he was next time. Anguiras swatted at him uselessly, trying to taunt him. Anything to bring the battle back to his field of play. That's something Hedorah was not willing to do. He fired a Crimson Ray at the ankylosaurus's face. The dinosaur swung wildly, but his target was far too high in the air. He was helpless! Hedorah gurgled in content as he prepared to drop several sludge bombs.

Anguirus howled in agony as toxic balls of goo plopped down onto his carapace. The blobs of sludge sizzled violently, eating into his tough shell and into the vulnerable flesh underneath. Writhing in pain as they burn deeper and deeper, the ankylosaur threw himself to the ground. Using his hind legs to propel himself, Anguirus dragged his spiny back along the cracked and damaged street, trying to rid himself of the oily cling-ons. Hedorah, looking down at the ridiculous scene with his crimson eyes, started cackling uncontrollably. Finally grinding the last of the slime off, Anguirus rolled to his feet and snarled in rage. His prehistoric eyes scorched a hateful path up at Hedorah as the alien being circled, still laughing.

The Smog Monster wouldn't be laughing for long...

Sweeping his hard gaze over his surroundings, Anguirus quickly spotted a large chunk of asphalt sticking up from the street at an odd angle. Scooping his short nasal horn under it, the dinosaur heaved up, flipping it into the air. Then, the ancient scraper whipped around and batted it with his long tail, sending it beaming at Hedorah. The polluted being was still laughing as he circled overhead. The laughter became screams as the chunk of asphalt slammed into his UFO-shaped form. With gurgled wailing and a spiraling trail of sulfuric gas, the living heap of minerals plummeted down, down, down, and...

CRASH!

A wide crater was punched into the street, Hedorah's splattered body spread across its whole. Trotting to the edge of the shallow crater, Anguirus peered into it with steely eyes. Seeing that he had a bit of time to think, the Mesozoic beast narrowed his eyes in concentration. Think. What was the monstrosity's weakness? Physical blows, however devastating, were only temporary. The horrid thing was non-solid, so he could just reform. So what could affect the creature?

Anguirus's eyes widened in revelation.

Heat.

Fire had harmed it. Whenever it came into contact with fire, it had dried out some. Anguirus grumbled happily. He could use that against it. The reptile looked around for something that could cause heat. There. One of the utility poles from a nearby powerline was hanged over the crater, its base crumbling. Anguirus quickly scrambled over to it, one eyes fixed on the recovering Hedorah. The saurian brawler toppled the pole with a gentle swipe. With the shriek of twisting metal, the pole fell towards Hedorah, who was slowly rising, spitting power lines trailing behind it like sparklers. Hedorah looked up just in time to see the pole close the distance.

The Smog Monster's body lit up with electricity.

Steam billowed into the air as the filthy creature was fried, dripping body flailing in distress. As Hedorah went into spasms, Anguirus butted a large pile of rubble, sending dozens of multi-ton pieces of debris tumbling down towards the shrieking giant...

Hedorah clutched the wires in his hand and slammed it down onto the ground below, disrupting the surge into his body. He wasn't able to block the debris though, as scrapnal and cement chunks crashed onto him, plunging deep into his moist body. Seconds past as the giant sludge monster regained his wits, trying to simmer down. Anguiras really wasn't a pushover like he ha expected. Oh, how a oil refinery or body of water do him so much good now. He was weaker, but he still was by no means a weakling. No, Hedorah was a powerhouse, and nothing would dare oppose him without suffering.

Hedorah grabbed a metal pole out of the ground and gurgled viciously. It was a bit out of his usual fighting strategy, but Anguiras needed a good beat down. The ankylosaurus leaped into the air, only to be clobbered by the thick pole. It bent as it connected with his jaw, snapping it with a peculiar snap. Hedorah fired his twin Crimson Ray, effectively burning away a chunk of Anguiras's shell. Just a few more good hits and he would win. The light at the end of the tunnel was growing larger! He cried out in a deafening tone as he grabbed Anguiras by his leg, letting the acid eat slowly into it...

Anguirus howled in agony as skin, flesh, and bone was burnt away in Hedorah's acidic mitts. New strength exploding into his body, the dinosaur threw himself forward. Hedorah, dripping hands still clamped firmly to the ancient reptile's hind limbs, was ripped from the ground. As Anguirus flipped over and landed on his spiny carapace, cratering the street, Hedorah was also slammed down. The Smog Monster, whose structure was still hindered from the electricity, spattered upon impact, flooding the cracked road with black goo. A weak croaking rose up from the puddle of sludge, two oblong eyes floating up the top with blinks of surprise. Rolling to his feet, Anguirus turned and gave a spiteful snort to the liquified creature, who was literally trying to pull himself back together. Hell in his amber eyes, the ankylosaur trotted off, a wicked plan in mind.

With a sweep of his crocodile head, Anguirus scooped up several cars in his fearsome jaws. The sound of gnashing metal rose to the heavens as the Mesozoic beast chewed the vehicles thoroughly, using his yellowed fangs and thick tongue to shape the mangled machines into a spitball of shrapnel and debris. Hedorah, now restored to his vaguely humanoid form, rose to tower over his surroundings, horizontal eyes slitted in rage. Turning to face his corrosive foe, Anguirus seemed to flash was almost a grin at the mostrosity. Before Hedorah could gurgle in confusion, the prehistoric brawler spewed his metal spitball with unbelievable force. The uneven projectile smashed into Hedorah's semi-solid face, burrying its jagged form deep into the foul being's head. Hedorah screamed as the shape of his face was obliterated. Clutched at his now nonexistent face, Hedorah stumbled about wildly, shaking the whole city in his distress.

His foe's weakness to heat still in mind, Anguirus bolted over to the gas station he had face-plnated into earlier. With a simple swat of his paw, the dinosaur sent a piece of burning rubble tumbling towards Hedorah. It came to rest at his feet, still aflame. Wincing at the though of what he was about to do, Anguirus leaned down and lowered his jaws into the path of some leaking gasoline. A sour expression set itself of the reptile's face as his mouth filled with the bitter liquid. When his long maw was full, he turned and stared Hedorah down. The alien creature was now ready to fight, face reformed and eyes blazing with hate. With a ridiculous raspberry sound, Anguirus sprayed the gasoline from curled lips, the vaporous, flammable jet making a gentle arc down towards the bit of fiery concrete directly in front of Hedorah...

Hedorah's eyes watched the stream of gasoline escape Anguiras's maw. He uppercut the flaming scrapnal, directly towards the ankylosaurus. Anguiras's eyes lit up in a panic as he saw his plan backfire right on front of him. The gasoline caught fire, igniting all around his face (he had been lucky enough that he had finished spitting a second earlier). An explosion followed. Hedorah gurgled and laughed. Anguiras wasn't laughing though. He charged through the fireball, his blackened snout opened in a fury snarl. Hedorah's arm instantly caught him by the neck, holding Anguiras in a dangerous choke-hold. Hedorah wasted no time as he fired twin Crimson Rays at Anguiras's face, tearing up dried and burnt skin. Anguiras continued to struggle...he kicked feebly, trying to break free. This fight was Hedorah's!!! ....

Anguirus was in trouble. The dinosaur thrashed in his foe's acidic grip, skin melting and flesh melting. A desperate wail rose into the air. If he didn't escape Hedorah's deadly grasp soon, he would surely perish. And it definitively wouldn't be pleasant. Anguirus wasn't afraid of dying. He had accepted the possibility of death before the fight even started. But he had seen Hedorah's sadistic streak. If he were to die, he was sure that the alien being wasn't going to leave his body alone. And having his corpse mutilated simply wouldn't do. He was too proud for such a fate.

Anguirus suddenly became aware of fire flickering on the tip of his nose.

A wicked idea forming in his mind, Anguirus gathered all the saliva he could with his thick tongue. As Hedorah laughed maniacly, Anguirus hacked up the largest lugi he could muster. The spitball- which had a slightly brown tint for the gasoline still clinging to it- barely touched the flames on Anguirus's nose and burst into flames. It wasn't a blazing fie that would dry up Hedorah from head to toe, but it was certainly enough to hurt the Smog Monster. This point was proven beyond a doubt when the polluted beast screamed in pain, the flaming spitball sticking stubbornly to his face. Releasing Anguirus and stumbling away, Hedorah pawed frantically at the fire slowly consuming his head.

Scooping up the flaming bit of rubble from before, Anguirus flung it at Hedorah. The fiery debris bouced harmlessly off Hedotahs body, but its flames feed the blaze forming over the foul creature. A jet of fire billowed up from the point of impact. Hedorah's howled in agony, movements becoming even more panicked. Hoping that the hated thing's outer surface was burnt enough to negate its corrosive effects, Anguirus whipped around. Putting his weight on his forelegs, the Mesozoic scraper kicked out with both legs, aiming for Hedorah's crisped face...

Hedorah relied on his gut instincts for his counterattack. His flaming body could be used against Anguiras! Right as Anguiras's legs contacted his face, Hedorah managed to wrap his slimy arm around Anguiras's spike carapace. The ankylosaurus was dragged to the ground as well. He barely had a second to react before the Smog Monster was entirely upon him once more. He burst from his solidifying body and landed on Anguiras's shielded back. While he was slightly weaker, he didn't want to risk becoming immobile by an insolent attack like a lugi!

The Mezosoic dinosaur cried in pain as Hedorah bear hugged him. It was a dangerous tactic which had some ghastly effects. Without warning, Hedorah flung Angy into a twin set of towers; they each collapsed on top of him with a cloud of dust rising from the area of impact. The polluted monster stepped towards the rubble. His eyes glowed as he prepared to fire his Crimson Rays...
