So just bought the issue, really liked it. I'm tied up now but the big question: is that big mountain thing supposed to be god?

You are talking about Godzilla in Hell #3? Cause it seems like you posted it in wrong thread.

Like, why does he walk with his hands facing palm up? That looks so awkward.

The plot twist is Godzilla's just looking for his damn car. His hands are facing palm up as if telling the world 'What the skreeonk'

It's also because IDW is not Bandai who can apparently do anything.
The reason behind that is because Toho favors Japanese companies over American ones
About like the whole Toho vs NECA deal, NECA's not Japanese, which means theyre on a tight leash, which is the same way for any American company or whatever who tries doing Godzilla stuff

That appears to a be a Wonderfest (Japanese kaiju/tokasatsu hobby convention) flyer. Looks like they'll be there for that.

And selling a 44-page full-color something. Unfortunately there's too much kanji for me to get anything else.

Nice artwork, though somewhat marred with the choice of transgender Iguana being used to oppose Godzilla. But I digress...

It's regarding the Wonderfest event in Chiba(Tokyo) (Xplus will there as well). I believe it says they're selling full color artwork from the two (44 pages worth...though it might be existing artwork they have done separately in the past as opposed to all new work they've done together).

By the way, how cool would it be to see Shinji Nishikawa work on an IDW mini???! :g64:

Speaking of Nishikawa, here is the cover of his new Godzilla book (manga?) coming out later this week:

Could be a guy,
Looks like the dude behind Godzilla is taking him from the back.

Who knew we'd learn Godzilla is into homosexual gangbangs from a manga/art book.

I have two other mangas with Nishikawa covers, and they are pretty weak. The content isn't so much Godzilla stories, but stories about people working on a Godzilla film set. At least this cover seems to indicate that unlike the other two. I may pick it up on the cheap at some point, but so far those two mangas have been some of the more disappointing ones i have picked up.

Yeah, I've seen his "manga" in the past (one of the was on Tsuburaya...these "historical" manga are quite popular over here), and I didn't pick it up, so that should tell you what impression it left on me. Nevertheless, the guy is a talented artist, and wouldn't mind seeing him contribute in some way to the IDW books.

Thankfully, there are several other G-related books coming out that look more promising than this one, so if I pick any of them up, I'll post my thoughts.

Is there a picture of the physical release of Godzilla: ROE in Japan? Like the actual book? (Not the art book)

I've seen one or two. I think it may contain multiple issues...? Anyway, I know you can buy it at the Godzilla Store.

There was a limited edition of ROE trade paperback vol 1 already released in Japan, as well as a Wonderfest special issue that I think collects the first couple of issues.
