Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Blast/Ultimate Tenkaichi

Bandai Namco just release their teaser for their newest Dragon Ball game:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4s9nYrpCvPo

The teaser look really cool. We don't know what it is yet since it sure does not look like Raging Blast 3 and the second Raging Blast sold poorly. It looks like you can destroy parts of the environment again, and the effects of the attacks look very close to the anime. I can't wait to see what they will show us next.

Confirmed from the trailer:
-Beam Clashes can now officially destroy a large part of the battlefield and it'll stay that way for the rest of the match. That's all gameplay thank god.

-Battle Weather Changes: From the start of the trailer, the battle between Goku and Vegeta, the weather was sunny. As the battle progressed, the weather grew darker and more cloudy. And it stayed that way for the remainder of the match.

-The fighting engine though seems similar to the Tenkaichi/Raging Blast engine, its completely new but will take a few elements from them.

-From the websites it said that the game will have "Manga Style Graphics"

Update: We just received word from Namco Bandai Games America that Dragon Ball Game Project AGE 2011 is on track for a fall release in North America too. Spike is developing the game and aim to give this Dragon Ball fighting game a manga feel. If attending San Diego Comic-Con is on your to do list in July, you can play a build of the game at Namco Bandai’s booth.

Looks okay, I guess. There hasn't been a good Dragon Ball game since Budokai Tenkaichi 3, so I'm not expecting much.

To be honest, this is the first time that I have ever been excited about a DBZ game in like, five years. Finally, completely destructible battle arenas! Though I must say, it seems that Spike is actually trying this time in making a good DBZ game. And its starting to show in waves.

Spike is making it? I hope it's something different from the Sparking series and the RB games.

Looking at that trailer, its not.

But hopefully it'll be what DBZ Tenkaichi 3 was to that series; the best of everything rolled into one package.

The game does look great so far. The graphics look very close to the Manga and remind me of Super DBZ.

Yes, though so far this DBZ game is becoming more and more promising and awesome. There's just a few things to worry about.

1. Well there be an actual Story Mode this time, not like what RB2 had.
2. How many characters will be in the game? Now we all know that when it comes to DBZ games recently,
the roster normal ranges from over 70-100 characters.

So far from what I've been reading mostly all over the net, is that everyone who didn't buy RB/RB2, or pretty much any DBZ game after BT3 are highly excited for this game and looking forward to it. Hell, even I'm looking forward to this game!
And like you Godzilla 2000, I am also glad for not buying Raging Blast 2.

Raging Blast was awesome for one thing though: the remake of Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans. Still mad they're using American terms even though the new dub for Kai is more accurate and uses the Japanese terms.

RB2's gameplay was almost the same as RB1, and the Camera was hardly any better. The nice section of characters where fun and the online play was much better but that was about it. You can find it around $15-$25 on Amazon or Target now.

It does seem to recycle various things from Tenkaichi and Raging Blast, I recognize many animations, I don't mind that AT ALL, I just hope it has a better "Ouch" Factor like Tenkaichi had that RB lacked. The system in Tenkaichi was better too, so let's hope this is the game to deliver what we've been missing since T3.

Sparking! Meteor (Budokai Tenkaichi 3,) was pretty good IMO other then the lack of unlockable stuff compare to the second game, but it was still a good game. I still like the Budokai series from Dimps much better.

Also this game is going to be 3D compatible and the Xbox360 version will support the Kinect going by some leak info from a Chinese message forum:

To unlock everything you just unlocked in Sparking Neo again would be a crime, I'm glad the way it is and I think it's one of the most respectable DBZ games ever made.

Unlocking stuff makes the game have a lot more reply value since I was able to finish the 3rd game in two days after I bought it back in 2007. I also hope to see more GT characters even though a lot of them are not very popular.

I love unlocking stuff, but It would be the 3rd time you would have to unlock the same characters all over again, that's silly, good thing that they implemented that if you have a Sparking Neo savefile, the characters you unlocked in that game remain unlocked in Meteor. The main replay value comes from the depth of a fighting game anyway, that's why games like TMNT Smash Up don't get mentioned, it lacks depth even though it has quite some unlockables.

I have a feeling that SSj3 Future Trunks will end up being in the game since he was in Dragon Ball Heroes. I still like to see SSj versions of Radditz, Nappa, Bardock, King Vegeta, and Tullece.

This game really needs to make a impact and actually become something more than RB2.
http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/arch ... ageIndex=2

Tekken 6 is still the highest selling game within Namco's arsenal, the second top game is Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2.
Both games broke through the million mark. Yep, a Naruto game actually survived and and sold 1.1 million units and is most likely still selling.

Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2 sold: 580 units....Not great, but okayish?
