What should i buy? a PS3? or 360?

the main game i am going to buy first is AVP... and LBP...

AvP has major issues with online for the PS3 from what I've heard. The 360 version was pretty crappy too as of May.

If you have your mind set on a PS3 why did you make a topic? It just seems odd to me that pretty much everyone here is recommending a 360 and yet your going with a PS3. I'm not trying to be rude or anything I just think it's pointless if you already had your mind made up on a PS3.

Having owned the 3 consoles, I regret ever getting a 360 and am Pretty pleased with the PS3, but I go for fighting games and you are going with family friendly stuff, which is more abundant on the 360..

There's a 4gb 360 with built in Wi fi coming out in a little bit for $199. The 120gb PS3 is $299.

I hate how both these companies screw their consumers though. They give you the free component/hdmi cables and then they just pull those out and then stick you with the composite cables. Wanna buy the hdmi cable for the 360? $40

Not sure what the setup is for the PS3 for the hdmi cable though. I think it sucks that they advertise "HIGH DEF GAMING!" and then stick you with a shitty cable.

Or you can go online because all HDMI cables are the same and pay $5 for a 6ft HDMI cable. If you buy one in the store the cheapest you'll get it for is $20 which is kind of stupid for a cable.

Oh yeah but the "average" consumer is a moron. That's who they take advantage of.

I got a "type-c" hdmi cable (so when I film, I can hook it up to a playback monitor) for my T2i which is like $40. Got one off amazon for $18 cents. With shipping, it came to less than $4.

True most consumers are stupid when it comes to that. HDMI 1.3c is the standard now they just recently came out with 1.4 which allows for higher data transfer basically it's for 3D.

I only have a PS3 so this will sound one sided.

I like the fact that I don't have to PAY to play online with friends, and the online is good to, I've rarely have had lag with friends on Super Street fighter 4, or Sonic and Sega all stars racing. PSN is good, and with the ability to make my own Japanese and Europe accounts I have access to so much more content, whether I can buy them or not is a mystery.

So, overall Free online is the best deal I can think of.

there are more games im interested in that are ps3 exclusives.

and it has free online.

It just seems like the better choice IMO. the only downside is that its not backwards compatible with PS2 games.

yes i do. its the new 42'' bravia. but ill be putting the Ps3 in my bedroom... which has a regular sanyo tv. but when i get the urge to play in HD (which i will... beleive me) i will set it up out ther until i want to play again in my room.
