Monster Toy Spotlight #27: Godzilla 1973-75 (Megaro-Goji)
Bandai;
Here's to my second favorite Godzilla design, and all-time favorite Bandai MMS figure!
When I began sifting through the series, Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla ('74) was one of my first stops. The name value alone drove me right to it; and immediately, I loved the cartoony, somehow expressive and almost cute design of MegaroGoji.
Being a rabid toy collector; one of the main reasons I was drawn to Kaiju entertainment was for the abundancy of collectibles. Though I loved this suit particularly, it had to wait quite a while to join my collection; as, put simply, it's not often the cheapest MMS figure around.
Eventually, I put a 'want' ad up on the Monster Zero Forums (under the alias Asian Aliens), and, thanks to the awesome fan KaijuZoo, I finally snagged him within my price range. Massive thank you, should you read this; I hope to purchase more from you in the future.
Bandai's Megaro is just a stunning figure; I'd argue it's easily one of their most screen accurate. Here's some side-by-side shots of the Bandai and the suit, as an example. Right down to the creases in the rubber suit, Bandai struck a home-run with the detail. He looks perfect next to some of his Showa rivals, too.
So, which figures of the most heroic and goofy Godzilla yet have you got?

Man, what I wouldn't give to see Bandai release all of their Memorial Box Godzilla figures in 8 inch/25cm scale....*sigh* One can always dreams.
Anyways, I'll start with my gorgeous Blue Glitter Marmit MH Megaro-Goji. Talk about just nailing the character....this may be one of the best figures of Megaro-Goji out there imho.

Yeah, I believe this is the only G73-75 figure I own because, tbh, I'm so pleased and content with the Marmit that I've never been motivated nor felt the need to splurge on the Bandai Memorial figure or the various Xplus figures.

Never managed to find that bank IRL; did it end up being an online exclusive, or have a limited run?ebirahsmeg1 wrote: Diamond Select Godzilla Classic 1974 Vinyl Figure Bank

Sorry, no idea about the Bank figure particulars.

thanks ebirahsmeg1! Its exactly 30cm and displayed among my X-Plus' and blows the XPlus version out the park. It was a vinyl model kit and I sealed up the seams with Bondo, toxic I know, but nowadays I use Apoxy Sculpt to seal seams.

Yeah, I find all of the Xplus G73-75 figures to be very flawed and not some of their better figures.ILL GREEN wrote: thanks ebirahsmeg1!
