What are you talking about, he is the King of the Monsters after all!

Best kaiju game ever. Like, seriously, awesome to play and full of cool little nods to the films that make it up. Ten out of ten. Worth waiting for.

A lot more flawless than the Heisei series ;)
Come on now, guys. Opinions and assholes, remember?

Anyway, time to update my first post with the Heisei and Millennium series!

-The Shockirus puppet, in a few shots
-Godzilla being lured away with... birdsong? :?
-"Hey kids, what did you dream of toda-" *cue a hundred crayon drawings* "GADZILLAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! :godzilla:"
-GvKG's bluescreen effects
-Emmy
-M-11 running
-"You can tell your son about it when he grows up, Major Spielberg!"
-"A giant dinosaw is attak'n our booooooooys!"
-"A dinosaur? Waaat?"
-"Yeah! Take that you dinosaur!"
-The Dorats. The mother fucking Dorats.
-"Hey Teresawa, I know we were gonna fuck and all, but I'm actually your ancestor!"
-The pointless Shindo scene
-Ghidorah in general in that movie
-"WHaT's hAPPeNINg TO Our PLAnET????"
-"NIIIIIIIIIICE!"
-"I don't caaare! I DON'T CAAAARE!"
-"THE ENGINE ROOM IS ON FIA!"
-The magical singing plants
-Yuki's butt
-Godzilla's tail falling off
-Destoroyah has wheels!?!?!
-"WHAT RADIOACTIVITY!"
-A good chunk of the ROM Trilogy
-HA! GODZILLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! KATAGIRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!
-The CGI Godzilla swimming in Godzilla 2000
-Megaguirus's strings
-Some of the CGI in GMK
-*shoots the wrong monster* "Ha! A hit!"
-Minya's scenes in FW
-"GIGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN! RIIIIIIIISE!"
-The New York scene with the cop and the gangster
-The Vancouver scene with the fat chocolate covered kid throwing toys in the fire
-The "standoff" between Minya and Godzilla
Ugh, just reading these made me cringe without even having to watch them

One example I can think of from recent times is the bluescreen from King Kong vs Godzilla, specifically during the giant octopus attack on the island. When the mother and child run out from under it they looks like blue and black blobs.

Also yeah, 'DA KANG1!11!!!" thing is fucking cringey. Especially in that one thread dedicated to speculating what the title of G14 was going to be before the film came out.

Thanks for twisting my words boo, but that's not what I meant.

It's pathetic to constantly stand up and scream to the heavens that "SHOWA/HEISEI/MILLENIUM IS THE GREATEST AND I'M RIGHT YOU'RE WRONG" etc, etc, bullshit, bullshit. This is why newer members/younger fans avoid sites such as this like the plague because some people can't understand that others don't share their views.

I know, I know I couldn't resist :P

I'm not being serious, people can like whatever they want, I just like "funnin" around :P

The Heisei series isn't absolutely dreadful, it's mainly the cringey dubs that just kill it for me, the kaiju scenes are a lil better and the effects usually save the shots from being complete garbage.
Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the Showa more, but I'm not triggered by anyone who disagrees.

The satire/pop-culture parody in Kingdom Of Monsters.

'A king's arrival is never silent' and most fan taglines & subtitles in general.
goblin shark (plural goblin sharks) [ˈgɒblɪn shärk'], noun:
1. a shark with a long pointed obstruction from forehead and growing to 3.8 meters in length; Mitsukurina owstoni.
2. not a reference to Guiron.

The last bit I disagree with. I often see MonsterArts fans get shit on by the "elite" collectors.

In what ways? Not in an instigatory way, but simply because I thought SHMA was generally seen as 'elite' anyway.

I like Godzilla vs. Hedorah, but do cringe at "Most Godzilla fans hate Godzilla vs. Hedorah, but I like it!" -- the taste of the fandom has completely changed on this movie in the last ten to fifteen years, but a lot of fans still seem to think of it as an unliked black sheep only a handful can appreciate.

Also cringed when I tired to watch Biollante with a friend and he was disappointed when he asked me if it was one of the ones with "those cheesy special effects", which he meant endearingly, and I told him no.
I used to be a lot more optimistic and outgoing, believe it or not. I used to actually be passionate about this stuff.

If you've ever been to the Godzilla Collector's Group on Facebook, they're incredibly elitist and see pretty much anything that isn't either X-Plus, Garage Kits, or expensive designer vinyl as pleb shit.

Oh man, I actually used to frequent around there. Definitely were a lot of 'elite' collectors, which led to a lot of arguing and the such, The community's generally good, but there can be some over-opinionated moments.

Any type of elitist in the fandom period.

The implication that America can't make a good G film or "only the Japanese get it." Screw that, anyone can make a good G film if they have the skill and passion

I really hate the notion that the only 'true' Godzilla films are Toho's (AKA, James Rolfe's thoughts on Shin). If it's a Godzilla movie, it's a Godzilla movie, I don't care who made it. Toho signed off on it, it's a real part of the series.
