So for the full story, last week our past host gave us warning that we were getting too large for their services and were threatening to suspend us if we didn't curb usage within three business days. My solution was, as many know, to disable the search function. This actually did the trick, as I got a notice that we were at an acceptable level. Operating a large forum without a search won't work, and so I also started seeking out and locating a new host.

We have since switched hosts, so please use this topic to report any noticeable changes (things that aren't working, speed issues, downtime) so we can have a full log. Thanks.

Anyway, I think I see a significant faster speed on my computer, but I'm not so sure. But at least I can view my posts again! YAY!

Yes. The past few weeks some animated avatars had been loading very slowly. That's not an issue anymore. Pages in general seem to be loading faster, too.

I take it the old forum archives are still gone for good though.

If the animated avatars are hosting at gifsoup, it's not TK's fault, it's gifsoup. Their servers have been overloading the past couple weeks.

Because there are people out there that fail to realize sites and forums grow exponentially. It happened with Spoony, it happened with Accursed Farms, and it happened to us. And unfortunetly for us, not only did we have to move the forums, but we also had to... lose some weight, so to speak.

Ive noticed the forum slow down a bit between clicks. And no it's not my laptop as it was just cleaned.

I have been surfing at about the same speed really. Sometimes it does run a tiny bit faster though, usually on every other click..

I'm many miles away but I don't notice a change in speed here, the server seems as fast as it ever was.
