For the most part Wii games didn't look any better than Xbox titles.

Skyward Sword look much better then any original Xbox game if you ask me. Nintendo are people tend to care more about Gameplay then graphics since Mario Galaxy 2 got a perfect 10 on many game sites, and calling it the best sequel since Super Mario 64.

HS I agree with you hence why I said for the most part. Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 both have impressive visuals that are way better than Xbox titles, Skyward Sword has an interesting graphics engine because it's a hybrid of TP and Windwaker.

Another thing to remember about GPUs is they just don't make games look prettier they also make it so you can add more detail to the enviroments and more models on screen at a time (CPU and RAM also effect this but still GPU does play some part into this) and that helps make the gaming expeirence more immersive which is the point of gaming.

Agreed 100% we should have a basic outline within a few weeks according to major VG News sites and then full details at E3.

While not the graphics themselves that I particularly care about (I own a pc for that), he does have a bit of a point.

A video card and cpu do more than just visual graphics. Physics and such rely on those two. Things like CryEngine 3 have ridiculous physics that are only capable of being used on high end computers to the fullest, to the point where they didn't even bother including all of them in their most recent game Crysis 2. Personally, I want to see a fps game that has actual, real time physics for most or all of the objects and buildings in the game.

The thing is consoles are where the largest crowd goes, so Nintendo is limiting the kinds of games, or at least the full experience, they can get if they don't push for similar oomph the other two systems will have.

I don't want Microsoft to make another console in an attempt to start its own "hype" and stay competitive with Nintendo. They don't need another console to compete.

MS said they won't start another console for another three or four years yet. They're giving the 360 a longer life span than the Xbox. I think we'll see the next Xbox in 2013 or 2014 that's plenty of time for a new system to come out. And at that time Project Cafe will probably be out dated.

The problem with Microsoft NOT doing that is that both them and Sony were foolish enough to think their consoles could last more than the basically standard 5 year deal. Developers are near the limits with what they can do on both, and the hardware each has is ancient compared to what a semi-decent gaming computer can have now.

The PS1 had a nine year run, and the PS2 is still making games for it after nearly 11 years. By 2013 or 2014 when the PS4, and the 3rd Xbox comes out then the Project Cafe should be still around. I doubt it will die out in three years since the N64 had a six year run, same with the Wii as well.

Nothing GOOD comes for the PS2 anymore, saying it's still as alive as it was 2 or 3 years ago is exaggerating, 5-6 years is the average life cycle of a console after that whatever comes out with very specific exceptions doesn't make as much of an achievement, just like Twilight Princess on the gamecube.
