Monster Toy Spotlight #11 - GIGAN (FINAL WARS)

Post by SUPERTOHOREMIX »

An incarnation you either love or hate. Don't think I need to elaborate further, haha.

That being said, the creator of this version (including the Death Trigger Variant) passed away at 53(?) of Kidney failure very recently. Not a nice way to go.

Kicking things off, the toy that got me into collecting in the first place (And the one behind my user name) - The GD-76 Gigan 2005.

Along with the Chrome and sexy Death Trigger versions,

And then the S.H Monsterarts,

No need to worry about it or do anything, as there is a sticky thread with a master list that I update/edit whenever a new spotlight is posted.

The X-Plus Gigan Final Wars Gigan (30cm Series)

And the Marmit Globsters "Final Wars Gigan" Nirasawa Color Version (Super Festival 37 Secret Show Exclusive)

To be honest, I much prefer the blue visor over the purple one for the Death Trigger Gigan.

Considering how active the SMHA thread always is, I'm surprised that hardly anyone has posted any photos of their SMHA Gigans in this spotlight. Strange.

Anyways, here's a review of both the Xplus 30cm Final Wars Gigan as well as the Xplus 30cm G2004 from Leslie Chambers:

Actually, both the regular and chainsaw Marmit MH Final Wars Gigan figures are some of the easier to find Marmit figures over here (I don't think FW Gigan is as popular with Japanese fans as it is stateside). I might pick up the Chainsaw version someday, but right now catching up on the Xplus 25cm reissues is top priority...

By the way SpaceG92, do you want to do the next Monster Spotlight # 12? :g2k: :g64:

Been personally trying to keep the SHMA shots at a minimum, for that reason :P. Want to see what more obscure FW Gigan figures are out there.

BC Gigan. It's the only Gigan figure I have. Based on the photos I've seen, I don't think it's as nice as the Bandai FW Gigan, but I still think it's very a nice substitute.

The Final Wars Gigan was a nice upgrade from the original.

I don't actually have a figure of this version though, at least not anymore. I had all of the Bandai Creation figures for awhile but ended up giving them to a theater friend since her little brother was a big fan. But I think they're in good hands. ;)

I always wanted that awesome chainsaw version though. I really didn't jump on any of the Bandai figures when Final Wars came out.

You know, the Bandai Japan FW Gigan is on Ebay for about $30-$60. Pretty good deal.
