The Rise of Caesar: Discussion, Suggestion Thread

Postby King Caesar » Mon Apr 18, 2011 6:42 am

I hate to have to make another topic, but here it is. The official thread for my next story is here. Below is the basic format, synopsis, and characters. Discuss or suggest ideas, mainly so I can formulate a true plot that i can write about.

The Rise of Caesar
-Characters: Koichi, Manny, Ryu, Sergeant King, Ami, others (Azumi Family, maybe Interpol?)
-Plot: King Caesar wrecks havoc in Okinawa to "Cleanse" the world of corruption. After the weak alliance the Azumis and the G-Force is crushed by the destruction of the Vector-74b, King Caesar heads en route to Tokyo, to exterminate the ultimate evil: the Japanese people. The citizens of the capital city have fate on their side though, as Godzilla returns to land to duke it out with the deity in an epic battle to the death.
Monsters:
Confirmed: Godzilla, King Caesar
Probables: Rodan, Ressurected Varan
Potentials: Resurrected Ebirah, Mothra
Unlikely's: Asuka Fortress, Resurrected Titanosaurus

A side note: Like Gabara in Mechabara, the Emerald Cyborg, King Caesar has additional powers that have not been applied to him before, but have (or may have) been referenced in Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla. This includes, but does not only apply to: The ability to resurrect dead kaiju and use them for his intentions; The ability to change the shape of land nearby him through the means of his spiritual power (He can use the land to make barriers, walls, crevices, chasms, etc.). King Caesar will be in his Millennium form for this novel. The Asuka Fortress (assuming that he is in it) will be the JSDF's main defense after the loss of the Vector-74b. If he is not used, the Flying Behemoth will be used instead. (Concept art will come later on, give me a while, please :P)

Sounds like you've got a great story on your hands. Can't wait to read it.

No. See, Anguiras was 'killed' in the original prequel and that's the way I intend to keep it. Also, the Black Hole Aliens were used in Mechabara already. I've had my fun with the aliens so don't be expecting any anytime soon. And Mechagodzilla won't be in it either; the closest resemblance would be the Asuka Fortress if he were in it.

I'd research Okinawan Mythology if I were you; the source of the "Shisa" statues.

Great idea. Nothing like making myth a reality! :) So, wait, King Caesar is a real "mythological" deity

Sorta'. Shisa were guardian spirits you placed at an entrance to your home as a ward against evil. "Asian Gargoyle" would not be an unfair description. There are a couple of interesting legends related to the Shisa posted on Wikipedia (in case you already haven't looked into it), with the creation legend being vaguely like the legend from the film (A necklace worn by a Chinese King summons a giant boulder to slay a sea dragon that was terrorizing a village).

Behold!

Heat vision may not be included in this model.

1974 was some sort of Anniversary for relations between Japan and Okinawa (Who've had a kind of rocky history, with Okinawan culture sorta' being repressed by mainland Japan). The Shisa, as a symbol often related to the culture of Okinawa was monster-ified and co-stared in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla as a token of good will of sorts. (That's my general understanding of it).

With his real world cultural grounding, there's enough potential for elaborate mythos to make Mothra look two-dimensional.

Oh wow. I found out that there is usually two of these Shisas, one male and one female. Maybe the usage of a Queen Caesar may be needed...the King is possessed by evil or something rather, then the Queen tries to stop him, but is killed and THAT is when he goes on his rampage. :D

GENIOUS!

Welcome, all! The first section is up! Please, read and if you catch some error or mistake, tell me and I'll make sure to credit you. Suggestions will still be taken, since the plot is not set in stone just yet.

BIG changes were made. I made a prequel explaining the events that took place between MtEC and now. Please, for the love of Godzilla, rate and critique.

Thanks a bunch :P

I think it sounds like story with potential. The possible inclusion of rodan and mothra sounds interesting, though I think even then they might have trouble with Casear. Zombie Ebirah?! Awsomeness.

In the prequel i made, Ebirah was killed by Godzilla in Tokyo Bay. He is resurrected though and he probably will be Godzilla's first opponent...i dont know im still in the midst of a massive writer's block.
