Predator (1987)

Postby Tyler » Tue Aug 10, 2010 12:15 pm

From the man who would later direct Die Hard...

I love this movie. It's not up there with Alien or Aliens, but it's pretty close. It's one of the ultimate guy movies. I remember watching it with my dad as a kid. I'd always fall asleep before we got to see the Predator's face. When I finally did years later I thought it was one the coolest creature designs ever. I still do. It's right up there with the Creature (from the Black Lagoon) and of course the Alien.

Up next: Predator 2 (1990)

Loved the movie. Great score, awesome characters, and I love the build up between the characters, and the Predator. Nothing really wrong with the movie really.

9/10

I remember my cousin talking about this in the 3rd grade. I never heard of it, but I was intrigued. That same night my father brought it home from the video store, and we watched it. I fell in love with that movie. I still quote from it damn near everyday.

Amazing movie. One of my favorite action movies of all time. Everything about this flick is just awesome. The characters, the action, the Predator himself... this is just a great, great movie. I also appreciate that the Predator isn't just a mindless killer, but a creature with a sense of honor and chivalry.

I thought it was a good movie not as great as Alien or Aliens but better than the AvP films.

What?

I love the movie. I think it lacks only one thing: boobs.

Music, action, guns, cheesy action, muscles, alien, alittle gore...I mean whats wrong with the movie? Name 3 things.

I enjoy Predator, its really entertaining film, but there are more entertaining films out there. I feel like this film tried to squeeze too much stuff into one film. While it pulls it off very nicely, I still get the feeling like there's way too much shit going on.

I'll take Alien over Predator any day.

Alien (the film) is better than Predator (the film). However, Alien (the creature) is just as interesting as Predator (the creature).

The sheer level of testosterone in this film is only forgivable because of the director's obvious contempt for the 80's action hero (a figure that he would later destroy outright with his masterpiece, Die Hard). The cast is a lot of fun, and Stan Winston's creature design is immaculate. Nowhere near as bad as most of Arnie's films from the era (with the obvious exception of the superior Terminator films).
