^You know what I mean. Gashapon has more or less become a generic word for mini-figure in the fandom, though technically you are correct.

It's all a matter of opinion. I prefer the face of the later 90s design, as well as the arrangement of the back plates. I also feel that bulkier suit really gives him a sense of weight and power.

94 was bulkier then 89 yes but 91 looked more muscular than the 92-94 suits.

If NECA does it right their is enough to different Godzilla 91 from Godzilla 94.

Sure, in those giant as hell thighs. My god, those thighs are so fat that even Chris Farley was like, "Damn, son, whatcha been eating?"

I never noticed how muscular 91 was.

Oh don't start with the thighs. Dont even mention the fact 62 couldnt get up because his thighs were too fat. It isnt his fault. He just ate to many burgers.
This is the beginning of the end.

Yeah, but look at those gross, misshapen, hugely fat calves of '91. They are both fat in their own ways.

Much of '91 is the '89 water suit, some parts don't look as nice as the dry '89 suit or even as good as the water suit looked in '89, after all the sea and rain shots in '89 it had been through a lot, didn't look it's best.

Wrong movie. The 89/91 suit was used for the water scenes in Godzilla vs Mothra.

I'm pretty sure my G54 came in the mail - once I get home I'll post pictures if the tracking is to be trusted. Hype-o-rama.

That is not mutually exclusive with GFAN198423's statement.
Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

Both actually, it's last use was Godzilla vs. Mothra. They also used it in that movie when he comes out of the volcano, at least for some shots, but they also had the new '92, in Godzilla vs King Ghidorah it was left over from Biollante include the robot torso for closeups.

I have to say, if they used the '92 suit for the remainder of Heisei era i'd have been happy, it wasn't as good as 89/91 but it was close, '93 and '94 were just bad and '95 was a bounce back.

I'm getting my 54 in today as well and it will likely be my first toy review.

Also do with this what you will, I asked Neca if we could see a G 89/91 and they favorited my tweet.

I really, really love this figure. Not only does it look great (especially once you've got it in your hand), but it's a great toy for it's own merits. The articulation is really useful and smooth. The bottom of the neck is a really nice ball joint, as is the head itself. The joint in the waist is much looser and easier to use than on past figures, and, yes, the entire hand opens and closes, not just the middle finger :P . Though the joints are tight thanks to the packaging, none feel brittle. He's definitely built for moving.

The spines aren't as paper-thin as 84's, but also not as plush as 94's - obviously, they're very in-between. I probably would've liked the cushier kind better, but they look and feel fine. I haven't moved the bendy tail yet, but as with the others it shouldn't snap unless you feverishly bend it back and forth - actually, it's very solid, so you'd most likely have to really try to snap the wire.

Paint-wise, the spines could be better, but they honestly aren't that bad. They have a little bit of a spray effect on them, so it look fine from a distance, but closer up it looks kind of like 84's sloppy spines (though obviously better). There's no weird blue-green highlights here; only light gray. On that note, he's completely black and white, right down to the tongue.

He's my favorite Godzilla by NECA so far... I'd even say he's better than G14, but that could come down more to personal preference than anything. I really hope they keep up this quality with future releases.

Also, if anybody wants more pictures just ask.

If you have the time and the Bandai (japan) G'54 can you do a comparison of that and the NECA?
