The design works in a way that it doesn't matter if he's good or bad. Like Heisei, but not fat (they can fix that in CG).

So you think the design looks to evil or something like that? I think I understand what you're getting at. I still do enjoy this depiction however.

Yeah, he looks too scary and crazy badass. It's a nice model and everything but I don't think it would fly in a movie. He needs to be a little more like the T-shirt. And I'm not against bringing in more dinosaur-like traits. Not a total make over (like GINO  ) but little things here and there to make him seem more natural. They can do that in CG.

Sigh... I want Godzilla to be SOMEWHAT dinosaur like, but not to the point where he stands horizontally or looks like GINO.

I would want the most iconic features from the original, including:

1. Long arms
2. Upright posture
2. Muscular body, albeit slimmed down
4. The classic face, albeit with a LITTLE dinosaur features thrown in. Think G 54 compared to G 90's
5. The classic spines, albeit sharper and more dangerous looking

Basically I would take the Toho Godzilla design, slim it down a bit, while still keeping a refreshing bit of bulk. I would then add some SLIGHT dinosaur like features, namely the somewhat dinosaur like legs, a slightly S shaped neck, and the crocodilian tail. That being said, he would still stand upright and most importantly, STILL BE GODZILLA.

I do not want a generic T-rex or GINO all over again, but I don't want to see a carbon copy of the original or a guy in a chunky rubber suit either.

When I posted the dinosaur pics, I was talking about the SKIN TEXTURES AND COLORS, NOT THE BODY STRUCTURE OR STANCE.

I don't want Godzilla to have a dinosaur's skin texture and colors. That would look terrible. Godzilla's rough, bumpy skin is practically a trademark. And aside from the G2K/GxM suit Godzilla should always be a dark, even color.

This doesn't make any sense, Saiyan. If you're going to attack me for having a counter opinion at least allow me to understand what you're trying to say. EDIT: Wait are you telling me that this isn't worth my trouble because it will aggravate me? I had to read that a few times to be sure.

And that's not me for once.

They should really take advantage of the CG and make him seem more alive and natural than ever. He has to look like Godzilla but they can do so many things. He shouldn't look like a computer generated guy in a suit.

Okay, I guess Godzilla doesn't NEED the dinosaurian skin, the traditional skin would work. I guess it all depends on the role or style LP is going for...

I'd kinda like him to look like he does in GMK, just slimmed down a little and without the ghostly eyes.

I kind of like the GMK style but please do something about the turkey neck...the droop made his head look like a marionette. The crown of his head should flow nicely down the back and through the tail.

Gotta walk more upright than GINO for sure.
Needs to keep the original skin...however with GGI we can now see the musculature working underneath.

I personally think Godzilla should have the saurian stance, not to an extreme, but enough to make him look more like a dinosaur. Let's not forget, biggest grip people had about GINO was he was too lizard like in appearence, so if we can make Godzilla look like Godzilla and add in Dinosaur features, then great, that'd be perfect.

While I don't want him to look like one, I think a good explaination for Godzilla is a species of Spinosaur, they're theropods and have dorsal spines, we don't honestly know for sure if they had the 'fan' on their back or not, so it's a good explaination for what he is, and I don't mean Spinosaurus, I mean the overall type of creature it is. I'd also like to see some agility to him, not a lumbering beast, but I still want him to wade through army attacks, not run from them. I think there is middle ground in the mix of classic and dinosaur traits he could be given.

As for side? I want him to be a force of nature, not good or evil, but just a highly agressive animal. I'd like something where he comes ashore and then he's attacked, causing him to go on a rampage in fury. GINO gave the monster a reason for coming ashore, but it was a bad one. Natural curosity is a motive for him coming ashore (if you'd been sleeping sense the time of the dinosaurs and finally woke up, wouldn't you want a look around?), being attack is a good reason for him to level the city. Godzilla is normally portrayed to be humanity's own fault, why not have the reason he attacks their fault as well? That's also a way to humanize Godzilla without giving him human-like traits, make the audience realize that he's responsible for nothing, he's just a victim.

That's my say.

The stance held by Godzillasaurus and Junior come to mind. They both stood at a semi-horizontal 75º angle sort of way.

It's not terrible, but it certainly is not what I'm looking for with Godzilla. However, I do agree the age of tail dragging has ended. I don't see that going over well with today's audience.

The issue is finding that balance of looking like a more agile creature while staying faithful to the design.

Color-wise? Not really, a bit strange but still decent. But I still favor the trademark black/dark greyish skin color.

Appearance-wise? The chest thing is a bit weird, but overall most of everything looks alright to me.
Anyway, the main purpose was to show the stance :)

Or Godzillawolf do you mean this stance?

That design looks pretty decent. I don't see anything really wrong with it expect for the really long tail, and the scar on his chest.

The first design posted is pretty neat, depsite the green skin and ginormous legs. The second is better but I think he should be a little more upright. I agree about no dragging tail. That needs to go.
