Mods Need the Power to Ban

Mods shouldn't be able to ban flamers and trolls because that would make every section of the forum (besides the one about the new Godzilla film) completely useless. Unless we get a hundred extra active users, so that we need more actuals bans, mods should be kept in their normal position.

There's flaming, flame-baiting and trolling and then there's heated discussion.

Sadly, lately there's been alot more newb spamming and flame baiting then anything else.

I'm all for the mods getting the power to do temp bans but I get the feeling that they might use the power a bit too much. no offense to the mods though

Maybe lessen the meaning of the term flaming/trolling to only direct insults. And as for spamming, some is okay, but if it ever gets out of hand, lock that damn topic and give out some warnings. (3 warnings = temp ban unless a mod says otherwise). That's just what I think...I could be wrong...

See, that's it. There ARENT alot of issues. Occassionally someone will sign up - like Baragon4ever - and turn into a turd and the mods cant really do anything but edit/delete posts.

Mods dont need the power to ban, they just need a more active admin to catch these so it wont be 3-4 days before Arbok or Vega can get on to do it.

Arbok and Vega arent invisible. When theyre on, theyre listed at members online. Im sure they have lives outside of TK, like the rest of us do, but theyre not super active. The most active member of board staff is Stuckey.

Oh jeez, if we gave the mods the power to ban...the backlash would be worse than the vendetta against the staff of old TK. Because the pharse "unfair banning" would become so very popular, which it could be true (although I believe the current staff is extremely fair and has legit rulings) but, if a mod is having a bad day.... Just giving so many users the power to ban isn't a good idea considering how fast the generally population can get upset.

I think if we need more policing, the conservated and best choice is just make one of the existing mods an admin.

I wasn't specifying anyone in particular. Just being hypothetical to any and all possible mod canindates in the future. Both Stuckey and Arrow are way, WAY level headed. Just think if someone less testy had those kind of powers.
