^ The Showa age ended, but King Ghidorah can back in a movie that wasn't canon to the Showa timeline (GMK). What's stopping Biollante or Spacegodzilla from doing the same?

Oh please.

Most of these characters had their chance when Toho was cramming GFW full of monsters. Not one Heisei monster made it. None of these monsters showed up in the Millennium series. It's over.

Besides that, their origins are pretty unique, and you'd be hard pressed to come up with something just as viable for an origin, let alone better.

King Ghidorah is popular, it's makes sense that they will add him in the next Godzilla movie of the series. SpaceGodzilla and Destroyah are one time monsters unlike Ghidorah who has appear in the most Godzilla films as a villain.

You know, I don't think it's that hard to bring back Heisei exclusive monsters. Biollante is the result of some guy screwing around with Godzilla DNA. Battra is an evil Mothra. SpaceGodzilla is the DNA thing again. Destoroyah could be a bio-weapon. I don't know.

I understand the way of thinking for the monsters not returning, but I don't think all of the Heisei monsters will stay dead forever. Biollante will likely stay dead as her film performed badly, and SpaceGodzilla's a fan favorite but little more. But didn't Destoroyah do fairly well? And his origin really isn't as complex as it's made out to be.

I'm sure one of them might reappear at SOME point. I bet in the late 90s people would've had the same reaction if a revival of King Caesar or Baragon was suggested.

I agree, with the way the movie go They could do a remake and follow how they were made at the same time.

I don't want them to do a remake of the Heisei Series, but if they did I think I would want to see either an updated SpaceGodzilla or Destroyah the most IF they made it

Godzilla vs Destroyah performed well in Japan because it was Godzilla's last film and it got lots of publicity. The film itself was torn apart by Japanese critics. Odds are when and if Toho starts a new series and decides to bring back old monsters again they'll stay away from Destroyah.

I hear the movie got decent reviews if I'm not mistaken. I can see Destoryah coming back in another movie without the OD if they change his origin. As I mention in the IDW comics thread, Destoryah could be brought back as a carb like muten that was created by toxic wasted.

I think if any Heisei monster was brought back then it might be Battra since he is a simple monster and as long Mothra is around in the story, he seems like the best choice.

There's of course a world of difference between bringing a monster back in a comic book or some video game and putting them in a new movie.

Besides, Destroyah's origin is part of what the monster is. It's in his freakin' name. How can you change his origin and still have the same character?

Destoroyah is a fairly unoriginal name. Its just a respelling of Destroyer. You could easily put a "Destroyer" into any movie regardless of the origin in one film.

Politician: Create something that can destroy Godzilla!

Scientist: Um, okay.

Dude studies the Oxygen Destroyer which killed the original Godzilla, tests it on some crab things, and there you go! Something goes wrong and Destoroyah is born again.

The Russians stole copies of Serizawa's blue-prints before he burned and killed himself. They're sitting in a file cabinet in the Kremlin somewhere.

Or, since the Heisei series was found of the whole hoity-toity new age soul/spirit/telekinesis thing, have Serizawa incarnate, or posses, or haunt a scientist into re-building a more powerful Oxygen Destroyer. Said Super Oxygen Destroyer makes crab monsters.

Or have the scientist that said he could make an oxgen destroyer (from Godzilla vs Destroyah) develop one and he tests it on marine life to see if it works or not and 1 or more organisms gets mutated by weapon.

Spacegodzilla is easy to work with as long as Godzilla's cells Have managed to get into space. If one were to build off the Showa series, it could be said that King Ghidorah or Gigan took his cells back into space, where they found their way into a black hole and spawned SpaceG.

That's the only way I can think of...

Scientists are studying Godzilla DNA on a space station, but it's showered by alien crystals. The station and its crew are destroyed, but the G-cells survive and mutate... into SpaceGodzilla!

Why in the BLUE HELL would Serizawa recreate the thing he gave his life to ensure was NEVER reproduced?

Talk about bastardizing a character.

^ I don't like the idea much, but Serizawa did what he did because he wanted to kill Godzilla. Now that he's alive again, he possesses someone and sets out to beat Godzilla a second time.
