Rejected Godzilla Concept Art

ok, there was a concet art thread before, but they were proven to be fake... this picture included.

but in the newest issue of G-fan, its been confirmed that these 2 designs are infact legit rejected concept designs for the Big guy!

so what do you think of them? i personally like the first one alot. but the second one is meh.

It's way too early to show off the design. Not to mention I like the look for Godzilla, it's a simple look and the general look that people go with when they think of Godzilla. If it's legit then I like it a lot.

I like it, but it could be better. Fine with them being rejected.

Agree with you. Hate the dorsal spines on the second along with its tyrannosaurian head.
The first very traditional looking Godzilla.

The first one is okay at best.
The second one is horrible. I will loose all faith in this movie if they turn Godzilla into a generasaurus rex, super-sized, with larger arms and back spikes.

First one is decent, second one is WAY too much like a T-Rex. Hopefully the final choice will be good.

Honestly, I probably wouldn't have complained if the first one made it into the movie. I don't think it's particularly great, but it doesn't suck. The second one though... it's friggin' GINO all over again. At least we know it's been rejected, so that gives some hope that they're making a point to avoid turning him into a standard dinosaur. Maybe.

theres only 3 things i dont like about the first one.

-the back spines look funky
-he seems too thin IMHO
-he's green!

I can see why they where rejected, I like the first one a lot and the second one is not that great. Reminds me of the older conpect art of the original Tristar movie. The first one reminds me a little bit of the trendmasters desgin. If the first one had a bit more brown or grey color to it then I think it would have been a awesome desgin.

Unlike Zilla, at least the second one screams and has the Godzilla feel to it.

The first one reminds me of late Showa Goji, it's sort of anithromorphic (I think that's how you say it) but the second is, as IR said, GINO again.

I think the first one was rejected because it was too simple and wanted something a bit more different. Where there anything else in the recent issue of G-Fan about the movie?

no, the article was written RIGHT before news about Edwards was announced. so it actually says nothing has been said since comicon

First one is okay, second one just isn't Godzilla.

Not a fan of the triangular, crocodilian tail spines on either.

The more I look at the first design the more it reminds me of the Marvel comics Godzilla with larger
secondary spines.

The second one reminds me of the Delgadosaurus from Ricardo Delgado, which is something that I do not want for this movie. For the people who seen the Delgadosaurus then you can view it here:

I still like the first one a lot. I don't see anything wrong with the first design. I mean it's the look of the mainstream Godzilla that people look and view as for years. The only thing I would liked about the first one if they give it a different color. Any reason why these where rejected?

The first one is on the right track! I think they both look better than Tatopoulos' design.

Maybe the people at LP where not impressed by the first desgin which might be why it was rejected. Any info on who made the concept art for the movie? If it's from ADI then all hopes for this movie from me is going down.

I wouldn't complain if the first one was used. The fact this design exists gives me hope, but the fact it was rejected concerns me.

The second one, though... We've been up and down discussing on how the tripod stance is the more realistic of the two how many times now? Do we need to start issuing informative pamphlets to the general public or something, or what?!

Well the second one was rejected for a reason. Hard to believe that these are legit seeing that it's way too early to show off the desgins for this movie.
