One book to check out if you haven't is
HACK/slash.(
http://boomvavavoom.com/hackslash.html), from writer artist Tim Seeley, which just started its second ongoing over at Image.
HACK/slash tells the adventures of Cassie Hack. A teenage outcast, whose mother, Delilah Hack, went batshit crazy with being abandoned by Cassie's father, Jack. Seeeing her daughter harassed by her fellow students at the school where she worked as the lunch lady. Delilah started knocking off the bullying students, and disposed the remains by serving them on the menu. When the Lunch Lady was found out, she killed herself by drowning herself in boiling gravy before the cops could apprehend her. When Cassie was put into foster care, and was unfortunatly, thanks to being know as the Lunch Lady's daughter, was harrassed by the students at her new school. Then Casssie's classmates started to disappear again. It turned out that the killer was actually her mother, back from the dead continuing her mission. Cassie ended up putting her mother down this time. And as result of this encounter, she decided to find and hunt down other slashers/revenants like her mother. In the course of her hunting, Cassie found the rather monstrous Vlad, who ended up becoming her friend and partner in her war. Good book. But on the subject of crossovers Cassie and Vlad had some neato crossovers since her debut back in 2004. With such well known cinematic slashers such as
Chucky.
Then a little bit more recently,
The Re-Animator himself, Herbert West.

Also some crossovers with Evil Ernie, Edger Dill from
BUMP !, and upcoming with the Bomb Queen ,and Moonstone Books's
Zombies Vs. Cheerleaders. Check it out if you haven't yet.
Also, I haven't picked up the opening bookend to IDW's
INFESTATION but from what I've read its kicked off quite well. And anything with zombies is always cool.
