Except this has nothing to do with Pacific Rim, and no one has said anything about Godzilla being delayed or canceled. Don't pat yourself on the back just yet, Donk.

So because he has another project in the pipeline (which will probably be low budget in comparison to Godzilla) people think the project is delayed or Edward's is off?

Legendary Pictures a while ago told him to keep himself busy with other projects while working with Godzilla, i doubt he wants to sit at home bored waiting for LP to contact him. Esp unknown if Godzilla will be a success or flop which could effect his career. I'm sure he is keeping himself busy with Godzilla an making sure if Godzilla does get delayed or pushed back another year he has a project to work on.

I'm sure Godzilla is still first priority an as soon as LP contact's him he'll be ready.

Well that helps....I just wish Comic Con would get here so we can see if we find out any good news or not.

Legendary has said many times that they plan on releasing both films. Pacific Rim might just whet people's appetites for another Godzilla movie. Anyways, if Pacific Rim is released and its as great as Del Toro describes, than I honestly won't be totally heart broken if this Godzilla reboot dies down.

Anyways, while we're talking about Del Toro. Doesn't the guy at any given time actually have like three or four projects in production? It's not unheard of for a director to be prepping multiple things at once. I wouldn't worry just yet.

No. I don't see the correlation at all.

That pic is two years old, and is just a mock-up design.

Lol. Well, I like sex and rock N roll..drugs, I could do without.

I do still have hope that this film will materialize..someday. If we're not shown anything by Comic-con 2013, then I'll consider it to be in development hell, but until then, I'll assume they're just trying to get a decent story together, and that that's part of the hold up.

It was a long time ago, back before Goyer was even hired to rewrite the first draft over Callaham's script..When i have the time i will look for a source though it was a specific article i remember finding an reading while going threw google. I only assume this still applies cause many directors have at-least 2 if not more films being worked on at once.

Some directors with even more experience then Edward's in the industry have double that in the pipeline. This is really only natural but mainly an assumption... i'd be surprised an disappointed if he dropped off of Godzilla.

I'm just worried that it would be a distraction to him.

It wouldnt make sense for Edwards to put that project ahead of Godzilla. First off he only has one film under his belt and working with a potential big blockbuster hit like Godzilla and getting it right would really skyrocket his career. He'd be foolish to be more focused on a smaller movie that wont get a big audience or money or attention like Godzilla would.

if hes doing this while waiting for all the stuff for Godzilla to be finalized that is fine. But if hes putting Godzilla off and putting more time and attention and focus into this other movie then that will be a serious problem.

All i know is this....Comic Con needs to get here now!

Honestly i dont think he will leave the project. Hes way too heavily involved and from the sound of things the ball might finally get rolling pretty soon

Same thing we have read before at Comic Con... Nothing new... I still think he was a solid choice for director an have hopes he will bring new life into this franchise.

Was hoping for a little more in the interview or possibly if the Comic Con trailer will ever be released, an if they have a design choice for Godzilla? An how his experience was during his trip to Toho studio's.

Those are things i'm more interested in.

Nice to see some kind of article, even if it is news we already knew. What I personally hate is the comments people left for it, completely bashing Edwards, low hopes for the movie, and this one guy hoping there's no subtitles. O_o Then it just degrades into a big boob discussion. I mean, seriously...?
