What would just ruin this movie for you? What kind of changes, deviations, themes, would just tell you, 'okay, Legendary skreeonk up'? What kind of flaws are you expecting? What do you think Legendary should absolutely avoid doing at all costs? What should they not even touch?

There's 3 ways this film can suck:
1) It could be another GINO.
2) It could be too "dark" and "cerebral".
3) It could be a 2-hour commercial with racist humor.

Different people have different reasonings why they don't like it, always consensus is always that it was a good/meh/bad movie, but nowhere near a half-assed Godzilla movie.

How could I define it? Another film that uses the name of a monster which doesn't appear in the film. Another film that fails to impress the mainstream audience.

Basically I see two possibilities.

1) Bad representation of Godzilla. This was GINO's biggest fault, but not its only one. I think we all understand that this film needs a Godzilla that stays true to the Japanese one. This leaves a lot of room for variation, but it can't be another GINO where we have a creature that bears almost no resemblance to Godzilla in either appearance or character.

2) Bad story-telling. Think: weak characters, a cliché story, overly focused on explosions without much in the way of substance.

Even if LP fails I think it's safe to assume no matter how bad the film is it's not gonna be anywhere near as bad as Godzilla 98. They know why people hated that film, I'm sure they would not repeat that mistake again.

I think so too. I'll feel a lot more confident when some more news starts to come out... especially concept art. Even a mediocre Godzilla film that at least gets the character right (like, for example, Godzilla vs Megaguirus) would make me very happy.

What will ruin the film for me:

1. Godzilla, he's a male....But he's also pregnant.
2. Godzilla killed off by missiles, or killed off in general (Though I know this won't most likely happen)
3. Godzilla runs away from the military
4. Godzilla has no atomic ray
5. If the film turned out similar to TF Revenge of the Fallen

That's pretty much it for me.

A movie with characters that don't blend in with Godzilla sequences. Making it like there are two different movies going on.

If it is like Wrath of the Titans I will be frustrated. Moving from one sequence to another without giving the illusion that time has gone by from traveling from one place to another.

Or a dull movie like the Ghost Rider films.

Or a movie made in the style of Bayformers.

They know why people hated that film, I'm sure they would not repeat that mistake again.

They also showed respect for the character unlike Dean ''Godzilla is a lumbering Frankenstein down the street'' Devlin.

2. Too much focus on love interest between two of the main characters.
3. If LP continues to withhold information related to this film and the same 3 threads remain bumped on this forum.
4. Godzilla is green and has red eyes.
