I rarely get any free time, but I've been working on a new version of Godzilla vs Megalon, plus a King Ceasar story that takes place in ancient Japan. If and when they are finished, I may make them into comics.

I think any other dinosaurian monster would work so both the monster and Godzilla can be explained by the same origin. First choice would be Anguirus than Varan, but like mentioned by others Rodan or Titanosaurus work too.

Rodan would be excellent for some fast action, a great counter to Godzilla's slower, heavier style.

Rodan could be eating people, directly attacking people to survive. This sort of happened in his original movie. This could make him more of a 'villain' compared to Godzilla, who almost never goes after people.

Anguirus was not a one-time monster. Neither was Rodan. I won't lie, because I would absolutely love to see Anguirus in a new movie vs Godzilla. I would especially love to see him get a sort of "updated" skill set like Rogue gave him in his Godzilla: Battlefield Earth screenplay. But he isn't a one-time monster.

I love how other people have done the exact same thing in this thread yet I'm the one singled out for it.

And I'm pretty sure I already said Varan at one point in this topic. So if it has to be a one time monster I'd say Varan.
