How about New Orleans?

It would be interesting.

I saw Atlanta. Here's why:

-I live 2 hours from Atlanta. My town is an air force base. good chance to go ahead and film some army stuff
-AT&T/Bell South stuff is down here. That goes down and a good chunk of people in the US are without communication
-Coca Cola will be taken down. A nice crowd pleaser, like when the White House was taken down in Independence Day
-in going with a nuclear theme, Atlanta is supposed to be getting a new nuclear power plant soon
-Atlanta International Air Port is one of the world's most important air ports

Atlanta is fresh and is very important for a lot of things. If stuff in Atlanta goes down, it will not be without meaning.

Why not Philly then? And the general Delaware Valley area. MacGuire Airfoece Base is the last stop in the USA for planes going to the Middle East. Pepsi is here. Limerick has a nuclear plant, and good ole TMI isn't too far away. Philly International is a massive airport and one of the largest on the east coast. And Philly also has a booming film industry. :P

Philly would be a good idea. Love to see the Rocky statue get squashed by Goji, hehe.

I can't see Godzilla attacking Pennsylvania or Georgia. It's going to be somewhere bigger than that. If it's taking place in the US I can't see it taking place anywhere other than California, New York or Vegas.

It better be Philly, its where I go to school and I vowed I will be in this movie. I am sure I am not the only one who didn't want to be seen running away from imaginary kaiju. But I do agree with the reasons why Philly should be chosen. Although it isn't specifically off the coast, it is pretty close to the beach. The thing is that G would probably have to go on destroying a bit of the Jersey Shore, I live in Jersey so I am more excited to see those' "guidos" from the MTV show to be spooked, although, they better not have a cameo. It depends on The Situation they are put in (i swear these puns were unintended)

Considering that's half an hour from where I live, that a great choice! In fact, maybe Godzilla could travel up the Mississippi, leveling cities as he goes.

In any case, Godzilla should travel across the US, not just stay in one place. He could even visit other countries, like Europe or South America. This movie should emphasise that Godzilla's a worldwide threat.

Yes, thats an aspect i liked in the Heisei Gamera films. That the Gyaos were a worldwide threat and that reports were coming from all over the world. Thats the way I want to see this Godzilla movie. BUut with that in mind, I am feeling that there will be another threat involved with this movie. But you never know what will happen.

I like the idea of Godzilla being a threat to the whole Planet. Have to attack Lodon, Paris, LA, Tokyo, and any other major cities on the Planet.

The thing is though, if he attacks too many cities in one movie, then either the movie is going to be extremely long, which would turn some people off, or they are only going to spend a short amount of time in each city.
If he attacks a couple cities, it would definately work. If he attacks lots of cities, then the only way I could see it work is like with news reports and what-not.

I think that this film will of course have a central location and he won't attack that many cities. He isn't taking over the world. I think whatever places he "attacks" is more of an en route to wherever he is headed.

Good idea. I think let's have Godzilla attack North Korea, then Osaka, then Pearl Harbor, and then go onto the main land of America from there.

They just can't catch a break now could they?

On a smaller note, I think this is a reason why we won't see Godzilla attack New Orleans. Just like the reason why they decided to re-edit all the NYC movies after 9/11.

To be honest, I don't think New Orleans is really in the best taste at the moment. People are still sensitive around Katrina.
