You do know that they would probably have him attack the US because it's easier for stupid Americans to give a damn when there the ones being attacked right?

They could say something about the US military invading another country despite that country not wanting help in the first place. :-x

How the Hell are we "stupid Americans" to be more empathic to the plight of our own people over another nation's people?

Not only is it practical, it's HUMAN. Think the Japanese would've reacted to Gojira the way they did if he attacked China?

What I was trying to say Kane is that a lot of people just don't seem to care unless the film takes place in the same country as them.

The James Bond films would like to dissagree with you. Most of them take place in other countries besides Britian or the US.

I think a lot of people here are getting "hopes" and "expectations" confused and are losing their business sense.

I hate business, don't get me wrong, but if this movie doesn't take place at least 2/3 in the United States, I'll write an essay about how awesome GFW is. And you guys know my REAL thoughts on GFW.

Start in Japan, end in NYC. Yes please. I know NYC is overdone and cliched and whatever, but I'm NOT operating under any pretense that we'll get another American Godzilla movie after this one. NYC has the best landmarks, and I want to see them get trashed. And considering what a turbo-wuss GINO was and how much he sucked at destroying the city, it will basically be something we haven't seen Godzilla do before! End it with something insane like Godzilla impaling Ghidorah on the Statue of Liberty.

If we somehow live in a magical world where my wildest dreams come true, we can do LA and other cities in the sequels. The first of which will premiere the week after I marry Scarlett Johansson and my book becomes a New York Times best seller.

If they gave the film a massive running time and budget, I'd love to see a Godzilla 2000 (the novel) trail of destruction from one end of the continent to other.

But we all know that won't happen. So I think I'll pick San Fran for the first film, and hope any sequels would have a wider view.

Over the month of October, during my usual month long horror flick festival, I watched John Carpenter's THE FOG. Through the course of the flick, I thought it'd be cool to see the Big-G attacking a fog enshrouded seaside community like that of THE FOG'S very own Antonio Bay. Much like that cool scene in the novel, Godzilla Returns, where the watchtower crew first hears Godzilla's approach. Then see lights in the sky, only to find out they're the Big-G's eyes.

Also earlier on someone mentioned having New Orleans being the site of an attack by the Big-G. But some thought that it would be in bad taste due to the woes the city has suffered in the last half decade. Hurricane Katrina, the rooster and bull show over the rebuilding, and it dragging out to no end , until the state got a Republican in the governer's seat. Then the recent BP oil spill throwing a wet log on a fire that was just starting to burn after all the crap the city ,and state went through. Well, I have to say fiddlesticks to that. I didn't hear any blowback over South Park's Coon & Friends Trilogy making fun of the situation. And Los Angelas, after quakes, riots, forest fires, El Nino, floods, droughts , still managed to laugh it off. I don't see a problem with New Orleans being hit. The line when the Big-G hits the Crescent City could be, "Now what ?"

Where should the Godzilla movie take place

Postby Darth Calypso » Fri Jan 07, 2011 6:26 am

If you could choose where the new Godzilla movie setting would be, what place would you pick?

Is this about music or setting? If its about setting then I say go for Los Angelos or something along the Pacific. The film should take place in America, but it should be heavily referenced tat the Big G is native to the Japanese archipelago.
