Personally I'd like to hear something like this as the main theme or in the opening titles:

Reijiro Koroku would like to have a word with you. As much as I love Ifukube's work, hearing his themes slapped onto a modern film garners more eye rolls rather than cheers.

Why? If you love hearing his work then what's the issue here? Isn't it the point to give fans what they want?

I wouldn't mind at least one classic Ifukube theme for this film (the Godzilla theme) but other than that get a new, fresh score

John Cacavas is another good, largely ignored, choice:

Quoted for Truth. Shoji Meguro would be an awesome composer.
Apparently SWTOR said that I can invite 25 people for a 7 day trial of the game. PM me if interested.

I don't think Daft Punk would be appropriate for this.

I would prefer more of a grand, orchestral score.

No, it needs something deep, dark, and foreboding. Imagine: Disturbed and Breaking Benjamin. No, seriously. Imagine that as the soundtrack to a kaiju battle! :D

I'm not. The only thing better would the song 'Bad Habit' by the Offspring during a city raid. Too bad most people fail to recognize musical genius and dabble in the drugs of pop.

But as Gigan once said, "Hug me"

That not why I think they shouldn't be the composers. I think they just don't fit. Who said anything about drugs?

Yes, let's forget about Disturbed and have some Offspring with the Ifukube. As for hugging Gigan, I just did, and it was fun.
