...

Where are you getting this info that he's been "let go"? :eh:

Toho doesn't have as much control as some of you may think. Is Toho investing millions of dollars into this project? No!

LP/WB have all the control, and all Toho is doing is making sure LP/WB is living up to the agreements. Which it seems from several interviews, that we are going to see a new version of the "real" Toho Godzilla, not some silly lizard like we saw in 1998.

I think LP is a very good company, but I am still not thrilled about the team behind this picture. I really wanted to see a bigger name involved.

I trust LP and WB a lot more then I do Sony and Tri-Star. I'll tell you that much.

LP is PAYING for the rights to use Godzilla. With that, comes Toho's rules.

In spirit of opposing the awful tag line for GINO, I'd like to counter "Size Does Matter" with "Bigger isn't always better"

But maybe i'm just insecure.

Or "Size finally matters" refering GINO being not so big compared to the real Godzilla.

If Tanaka hates Hedorah which goji flims does he like.

Most of the other earlier ones, and the Heisei series. Part of why Tanaka disliked GvH is he wasn't able to be as personally involved since he was in the hospital.

As I stated in my previous post, there are obvious agreements. Nobody wants another GINO. But, generally when you buy the rights to something, you have artistic freedom to do what ever you want with the property.

Bob: Let's make a comic where Godzilla has to protect his past self from a monster that eats dinosaurs.

Toho: No. Now sign this.

Years later...

Bob: Wait a minute.... ROM3 is sounds a lot like my idea of Godzilla going back in time to the age of dinosaurs to protect himself from a monsters that eats dinosaurs.

Toho: We like that story.

I'm starting to think that David S Goyer just wrote the story and Max Borenstein might be just writing the script.

I agree, I think they rejected ''David Callaham's'' script completely... So this might be the second writer instead of a third like we think.

I'm suspecting he just did a story treatment and not necessarily a full screenplay. Basically putting down a solid foundation for another screenwriter (IE; Max Borenstein) to work off of. It worked for Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

If this ends up anything like The Dark Knight, I will be ecstatic.
