^^ There was an old "I am Legend" film? I knew there was a book... not an older film though.

The old film was called "The Last Man on Earth" starring Vincent Price. And the vampiric traits are oh so more obvious than in "I am Legend".

Omega Man with Charlton Heston. These were all based on Richard Matheson's story "I am Legend". He also wrote about a number of "end of the world" scenarios for the Twilight Zone back on the late 50's/early 60's. That was a big part of his oeuvre.

He is a great actor, but I doubt he will be in the movie. What about Brad Dourif (Alien: Resurrection, Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and Law & Order) to play a role in the movie?

He should totally play a crazy guy who claims he saw Godzilla.

Yeah great idea. I won't mind see a USA soldier type of character in the movie too. Michael Jai White (Spawn, The Dark Kinght, and Black Dynamite,) would be a good choice for a soldier in the movie.

Clint Eastwood is no stranger to monster films. He has been in films like Revenge of the Creature and Tarantula.

But Clint Eastwood will likey not be in this movie at all. He is a oscar winning star now for the past 15 years.

What about Bradley Cooper for the movie?

He could work, but he seems to be in mostly lighter and comedic roles. I prefer John Krasinski because he can pull off dramatic parts, and his comedic touches are subtle.

Plus I just really like The Office.

He was in The A-Team, and he is a pretty popular actor. I can see him working.

^I'd hardly call Midnight Meat Train a light, comedic role for Cooper. And he's in the upcoming horror flick Case 39. For the commander of the military operation I'd love to see R. Lee Ermey(Full Metal Jacket, Seven, Switchback, R. Lee Ermey's Lock & Load) leading the charge against the Big-G. I was let down a bit with a lot of things in X-Men:The Last Stand when the powers that be just had him do a voice over when giving the troops their orders to equip themselves when dealing with Magneto's Brotherhood. I was secretly hoping to see Magneto and Ermey have some sort of face off. Onesided for sure, but have them butt heads nonetheless. Another gentleman with a heck of a lot of cred in the fan community would be Tom Atkins(The Fog, Night of the Creeps, Lethal Weapon, My Bloody Valentine 3D) for the milyary commander. Or a guy who often seems to be a bit type casted in the roll, Robert Patrick(Terminator 2, The Unit, Stargate Atlantis:The Rising, CopLand, The Faculty ).

Would anyone like to see Danny Trejo (Con Air, Spy Kids, XxX, Predators, and Machete) play a role in the movie? I think he would be perfect for a military solider in the movie.

I'd love to see Bruce Campbell have a role in the film, because things could get ugly - reeeaaal ugly. Hail to the king, baby.

As long as an actor fits the role he/she is to play accordingly, I don't mind too much, as long as their acting doesn't suck and their characters aren't half-arsed carbon copies of some other character like a large number of character have been in alot of recent movies (and I mean both Hollywood and Toho with a few exceptions).

As a whole, I'd like to see an American and Japanese cast. In a scene with two or more Japanese characters speaking to each other away from and English speaking American character, they could speak in Japanese translated by English subtitles. Not only would it help acknowledge Godzilla's history as a Japanese Icon (Its Godzilla, you can't take the Japan out of him without totally ruining his character and style), but it can help people get used to watching a Godzilla movie in Japanese with subtitles.

As many of you are hoping for (myself included), that this movie may end up being good (as long as they REALLY live up to their promise to stay true to the franchise, and at least try to incorporate modern Hollywood suitmation on top of that), this can get more American interested in Godzilla and hey can watch the older films on DVD/Blue Ray/whatever in Japanese with subs, as well as any new Toho Godzilla films. A way to market the older films and creating an international atmosphere for a new series.
