Kaiju Appearance Wishlist

Postby therealmccoy » Wed Jul 27, 2011 1:23 pm

To get right down to business, which kaiju do you think will be in the LP film.

RULES:
Write and explanation to how you think your kaiju suggestion would integrate into the film(s).
DON'T just list the monster(s) you want to see.

Varan would be cool, also Matango, and maybe Dogora.

Rodan. The average joe actually knows about him since he's referenced in pop culture and his origins can easily be tied in with Godzilla (prehistoric creature mutated by radiation). Plus he's pretty damn tough.

Rodan does seem like a smart choice and hoping that they don't kill him off. But I can see King Ghidorah working better if they want a more serious monster. He is a big large dragon, he is pretty well known and can work if they want a planetary threat for the film.

Rodan or Anguirus cause they share a similar origin to Godzilla.

But if they wanna go all out I say King Ghidorah, Godzilla's archenemy.

Or a new monster just to be different.

I would like to see them establish Monster Island at the start of the film and introduce the all stars. (Angilas, Rodan, maybe Mothra)

Then have King Ghidorah show up and be the foreign, "real" conflict monster cause of his (hopefully) alien origin. Basically I want a modern age Ghidrah.

Thought I'd join in :D

I'd like to see Hedorah come into play somewhere. They could defiantly tie it in with pollution and global warming.
I'd also like to see Biollante and Rodan. Rodan would be a perfect opponent for the LP film. It could Incorporate a Monster Zero-esc ending where both monsters fall into the ocean. It'd be perfect for establishing a sequel and bring back Rodan. Biollante could also be down well, maybe giving her a simpler origin.

#1. Rodan - Pretty popular, could easily tie in with Godzilla as to being mutated by Nuclear testing.. Also Rodan is fast, powerful, fly's, an isn't a boring slow monster.. Could make for awesome action scene's.

#2. King Ghidorah - Going a different route, Is one of Godzilla's most popular foes.. Awesome looking i mean a 3 headed-dragon that shoots lighting from it's mouth? Probably going the approach of (Ghidorah: The three headed monster) as a monster that is released from a meteor from outer-space that has landed on earth. Simple an works.

#3. Biollante - If used in a sequel, could easily take the same approach as Toho's version but maybe using G-cells an trying to find a weakness an end up creating a monster out of it. Or if in the 1st film i'm sure they can figure something out. A beautiful but unique an powerful monster.. Personally i'd love to see all 3 in an American film.

There are a few, but I also think there's a pretty good chance we'll see something original.

Honesty, I see them going for Ghidorah right off the bat. If they decide to be more conservative, Rodan or Anguirus.

Okay, I've thought of a unique way of incorporating Ghidorah into the film, or one of the possible sequels.

Humans are drilling for oil on Mars, while drilling they find ancient ruins and a black, meteorite like object. This black meteorite is in fact Ghidorah in a dormant state. Humans bring it to Earth, but upon entering Earth's atmosphere it turns into Ghidorah. :) IDK Not much

Why does it have to be so complicated? Why can't a shooting star/meteorite land on Earth and turn into a giant, three headed monster?

Best statement of the day :D

Seriously Ghidorah is more simple than people think, he'd be great

How is PopInPicsPresents's proposal "complicated"? They bring a meteorite to Earth and it's actually KG. That's exceedingly straightforward.

I want King Ghidorah, but I think he should be saved for the sequel so I say Gigan.

Hopefully, one that hasn't been used to death. I thinking the following would be adequate:

Titanosaurus: Also a huge acuatic reptile, useful to represent Godzilla's oposite side. Because he doesn't use beam or projectile weapons, his battle with Godzilla can be more carefuly crafted than the usual array of mystical mumbo jumbo and deus ex machinas we've been seeing for decades.

Biollante: Another that can be Godzilla's opposite. The origin story would need to be changed to something more sophisticated, audiences today can't simply swallow "I've mixed Godzilla's DNA with a rose!". This where an interesting comment on bioweapons and society's fear of them comes in handy.

Spacegodzilla: In his debut film, Spacegodzilla suffered from poor effects and a lazy origin story. In this era of photorealistic CGI and rising young directors, a lot can be done to bring what was just "Oh that's kind of cool" to "Oh that's Godzilla's coolest enemy yet". Spacegodzilla is also another one that can mirror Godzilla and become an oposite of him.

Ebirah: I just like my simple, non power ladden, enemies in the series. What is Ebirah besides a giant shrimp? Not much, but this is part of his natural charm. If the script is not just a King Kong movie with Godzilla replacing the ape, then so can Ebirah be updated to become a sadistic menace (and Godzilla the monster we root for).
King Ghidorah: Dragon or ogre?

Either Baragon or Rodan, since both are well known kaiju and are "simple" compared to King Ghidorah and Mechagodzilla.
