So it's just a rumor for now.

They wouldn't. It's incredibly stupid and a really dumb way to try to win people over. It's a hoax.

Regardless of it being a hoax or not, I think it looks terrible. Does Godzilla really need that many spikes?

I think it looks alright, I rather not have in a film. Looks like something that should be used in a video game or just only as a Toy.

It's Godzilla 2 the X-Treme!

And he's got funky GINO feet with the dew claw on the other side of the foot.

Wich sculpture was it? Just cause it's a hoax doesn't mean the link should be removed.

I echo this statement. People who aren't Godzilla fans, but somewhat know him, find the sculpture to be "awesome", "badass", "sick" and "gritty yet beastly amazing."

Hell, from most sites with this rumor going around, most people comment on them are liking and loving this design.
Also one site has contacted Hector A. Arce to clear things up, but he has yet to reply.

The image's style, however, is consistent with the observation from Bob Eggleton that designs he's seen have made the monster look toxic and spiky. Those words pretty much sum up what we're seeing here. I just hope that they don't make him so anonymous and ugly in appearance.

X_X Not only is it about as clunky and inelegant as a design could be, that tusky, dino-croc face is truly hideous. I've never thought that "ugly" is something a Godzilla design should aspire to be.

Stop with the 2014 stuff. LP has yet to release anything official as of yet so 2012 is all we can go on for now since it was their original grand plan. For LP to release anything regarding this movie the entertainment industry would definitely be buzzing with news. In regards to this post it only further boils my impatience with the lack of any official hard coverage behind this rather quiet project. The next interview with Gareth Edwards (whenever that happens) should cover a lot more than his knowledge of the franchise.

I hope you guys are right and this being a hoax. This particular design looks waaay too overdosed. especially the face. They'd have to alter a lot of aspects to get this good enough for a serious movie.

^ its definitely just a rumor that will go nowhere. I'm sure LP will pull out something exceptional for their design of Godzilla. It will have to be something that will resemble the traditional design but be noticeably updated and distinctive to the LP label. As far as that comic con shirt design goes it is already currently in use with the Kingdom Of Monsters comic series as far as I can tell. Look at the first issue and tell me if the last page doesn't look exactly like that shirt.

I sota like it ,but It looks way to cartooney for a movie. But only if if they use this or something like it.
Mabye it would work better for a video game power-up or an anime/cartoon or comicbooks.

Wait your saying Bob Eggleton has actually seen designs for LP's Godzilla?

Oh please. You're really still holding on to 2012? Really? Really??

2011 will be over in 3 months. 2012's movie release schedule is booked solid. There's no room for Godzilla. 2014 (or possibly 2013) is far, far more likely at this point than 2012. Anyone supporting the 2012 release date has got to come to grips with reality and face the fact that odds don't favor it. At all. "LP has yet to release anything official"...so we have to assume 2012 is still valid?

How does that make any sense? I think that's honestly a clear indication that this thing is far from being on track for 2012. That and, you know, every major movie coming out next year has a release date.

Well the original article stated Edwards was more concerned with his Robot Star Wars project right now, and while the Godzilla information is a hilariously obvious hoax, I've heard something to that extent elsewhere so I think that bit is probably true. Godzilla is not Gareth Edwards' top priority.

Regardless, I'll go retitle the thread
