I'd like some news. I'm kind of worried about the project to be honest. Pacific Rim got the green light and they are moving fast on that project. In the mean time no news on Godzilla. I'm worried the Toho approval process might be taking it's toll on the production of the film. (Speculation only)

Comparing Godzilla to Pacific Rim isn't really fair... To my knowledge (i could very well be wrong) Pacific Rim doesn't have any established fan-base or any real expectations for the film other then due to Del-Toro they expect a great monster film.

While it's all a guess at this point, Godzilla has never really been a huge success in the U.S. which is a major risk for the studio, an the last time Hollywood gave Godzilla the time of day it was bashed enough to cancel a sequel an didn't make at all what the studio expected. (for good reason of course)

Point is, Godzilla fans are picky as hell.. there are still some fans bitching because it's CGI, they spent a good amount of time on finding a director an waited to get a experienced script writer. My hopes are if no news is released at this event, that Legendary is making sure there taking all the steps to make a good American Godzilla, with interesting character's an respect a franchise that's been around nearly 60 years an not just an easy cash grab.

I honestly don't expect a teaser trailer till Summer 2013, an it be released Summer 2014.

Pacific Rim is likely to be a better movie since it has Guillermo del Toro, who never directed a bad film expect for Mimic (1997) and Del Toro admits that it's not a good film. Knowing del Toro, he could always drop out it for another movie like he has before many time in the past.

The dedicated Godzilla fan base is not very large, so the key is really to get Godzilla looking "right" and make a film entertaining enough for more casual viewers. The problem with Emmerich's Godzilla movie is that it didn't really do either.

Yeah it's bad enough when you make a film that doesn't really change non fans opinion but it's worst when you make a film even the majority of fans will not defend and instead even attack.

^I doubt he will inform us with anything. The comic con is only two weeks from now, I should able to watch it through via IMDB like I did before. I don't know if G4 will be showing it or not?

If LP doesn't give any info, there has to be some rumors about the film floating around the place. Its hard for people to keep secrets. I wouldn't mind hearing some of those rumors about now.

At this point all I really wanna hear is, "we have a cast, script, and design and will begin/have begun filming". They could just say that and not give any details or show the design or tell us who the cast is and I'd still be happy for a while

We won't see Godzilla until the 1st "real" trailer. All we can hope for is a leak. But, as you stated, a cast, script ect., would be a nice start.

I would be happy if they ignored Godzilla during the entire god damn presentation...

and once they walked off stage. On of them just ran back, grabbed the mic and just said "...Godzilla". Then ran back off.

I hope give out some type of release date other then just 2012. I hope they pick for a late 2013 release date since it seems like that studios are going for the 2013 movie slot now with 2012 now all full up.
