Why Hedorah is great; he can be a main villain who MAKES cannon fodder.

Three. Godzilla, opponent, and a stupid cliffhanger cameo at the end.

How many monsters? As many human beings as there are on earth.

But only one hero. :g2k:

I'd like to see Godzilla face multiple monsters, BUT, if any of them are classic Toho Kaiju I'd prefer they not be cannon fodder monsters, I'd like to see Anguirus, Rodan, Mothra, etc be taken seriously, whereas beasts like Kamacuras or Ebirah can go make good cannon fodder (or better yet, new monsters altogether).

I think a good matchup would be Godzilla vs two Rodans (just like in the original Rodan movie, a male and a female with a possible threat of eggs being laid). Godzilla and Mothra have had entire movies dedicated to their battles, a Godzilla vs Rodan movie would be AWESOME, Rodan deserves more love as one of the famous five.

Otherwise, I'd like to see whole new monsters vs Godzilla, and as others have said one could be the big bad ultimate opponent whereas the other two could be canon fodder.

"Not one, but Two!". Give Godzilla one worthy opponent of equal strength and stamina (e.g Rodan or Anguirus). No cannon fodder please, that's the military's job.

3. Godzilla, a decent foe, and a cheesy line about how man is the real monster.
