I would be up for some chanting.

I didn't know music were other monsters in the film. :D
There should be a maximum of 4 monsters, and even that's pushing it. I'd prefer 3, and I think so will other people. Godzilla, Villain monster, and cannon-
Oh crap.

I'm not really serious. I think it's as good of an idea as having a Metal soundtrack. As in "OK, but why?".

I said Heavy metal because I feel that it's inevitable that there will be at least one battle sequence with fast distorted guitar/bass background music.

I don't know why exactly... I just feel like I KNOW there will be.

I don't think there will be any metal. Edwards doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would want that in there.

Agreed. Thats one of my least favorite things about Godzilla: Unleashed is the ridiculous heavy metal theme music. Its out of place. Yes, Kaiju are huge and full of death and destruction, but heavy metal doesn't click with them. That Sum 41 song in GFW makes me #(%@ing cringe.

The studio and Gareth Edwards have stated within every interview that their full intent is to please the fans and respect the originals.

So no Heavy Metal. And thank Zeus for that.

Now as far as the actual topic of this thread goes, I'm really liking what everyone is saying about three monsters... Goji, someone for him to use as a punching bag, and then the big threat. I like that a lot. Here's to hoping!

P.S. Video game monsters are bad ju ju. Adding Krystalak or Obsidius (a molten rock golem, how creative!) would be bad, but BOTH of them? Hey, that makes me think- if Asylum did the effects, it'd even LOOK like a video game![/quote]

I kind of liked the ideas of Krystalak and Obsidius. They were creatures made up of non living materials, like Hedorah, and that made them stand out. They were new and maybe unpopular, but Toho even introduced new creatures in it's newer films, like Orga and Keizer Ghidorah.

Personally nothing would make me happier than to see real arch eneimies like MechaGodzilla or King Ghidorah though.

Also, I wish people would stop saying bad SE in a movie looks like a video game because frankly, the quality control in videogames is a lot more stringent by and large when it comes to big name titles. Most of the animation flubs big budget movies get away with are usually unacceptable in video games, because it is an interactive medium and gamers would totally bitch and or judge the game harshly on looks alone.

Videogame developers employ motion capture a heck of a lot more that Hollywood does and it shows.

Speaking of video games and movies, as a good choice for music I don't think they could go wrong with Kow Otani, the guy who composed the themes from GMK and also the music from Shadow of The Colossus , which in a great giant monster experience and also a good example of video games having damned good special effects.

Agreed. Though just one nitpick, Sum 41 isn't really metal. It's punk with a metal influence. But still, it was too heavy for a Godzilla film. That scene feels like a fanmade video.

^ If There is Music in the movie it has to be only Orchestral but maybe some Artist or Band could either make a Song promoting
or theyre own rendition of the Blue Oyster Cult Song it doesnt necessesarly has to be on the movie or soundtrack.

I wouldn't mind heavy metal too much, as long as none of that shitty death metal's in there.

We have strayed ever so far from the topic!

What Toho monsters would everyone like to see in this film?

I think 3 is good: Godzilla of course, Anguirus, Rodan or Mothra as well. I would LOVE to see King Ghidorah but I don't think he'll get tossed in there yet. Probably gona stick to Earth bound mutations before venturing to any space invaders. :g2k:

p.s. it would be epic if the used a new kaiju and made it a giant turtle :huge:
:g2k: End of line.......
