Should Maddie be the Monsterverse’s new lead?

A Kenny is a useless whiny brat.

MBB is not useless or a brat in KOTM.

Maddie is definitely not a Kenny. But to be the new lead of the Monsterverse her character needs more depth. MBB has the acting chops for it so I say sure.

While MBB is cool for 1 or 2 films tops and can definitely act, I prefer Godzilla films being from multiple different perspectives.

G14 = Military family
K:SI = Rag Tag Military group
KOTM = Divorced Family
GvK = Dad/Daughter (which is stretching it since they were the mains in KOTM)
G3 = Say, maybe some Monarch scientists?
K:2 = Maybe finally introduce an Anne alternative? OR BETTER YET GIVE KONG A WIFE.

I kinda liked Kong Lives lol, it gave Kong some heart (literally lol). He died for his family, just as his family did for him (assumingly)

Whether it's MBB or not (I'm ok with that), I agree that we do need consistent recurring leads if we want this series to continue, since the GA seems unable to connect with the kaiju themselves as main characters.

It would probably help the Box Office though, and maybe even critic reviews. I mean, look at the Meg and Rampage. Both (while certainly enjoyable) were inferior to KOTM in pretty much every way...except that they had Statham and The Rock respectively. As a result. both were better received by critics and were financially successful. It might be necessary for the MV to contnue.

i mean, can't blame them there good actors. Someone with star power like them (say RDJ) could really boost the franchise.

She's a talented girl, and did well in KOTM. I hope she continues to show up, I've always enjoyed the few recurring characters in Godzilla movies. They really add a lot to the audience being invested in the human stories.

King Kong Lives is quite honestly the worst Kong film, though. It's best not to retread bad ideas. I kinda hate that movie a lot.

King Kong Lives is quite honestly the worst Kong film, though. It's best not to retread bad ideas. I kinda hate that movie a lot.

It's certainly the worst, but it's also the most far fetched Kong film beyond the Toho films. Shows America doesn't just reboot the same film over and over.

I’m seriously on the fence about it, to tell you the truth.

For now I’ll say it was ok. Far from being the worst Godzilla movie I’ve ever seen but also far from being the best.

I feel like a lot of people will agree once it comes out on video and we can analyze it better.

The little boy from King of the Monsters? No. He annoyed me honestly.

It pissed me off that Ghidorah had so much trouble killing him and his mom. It reminded me of Zilla acting clumsy in new york and not being able to catch a car.
