Hmm. Putting it up against Clifford might have been a mistake. Besides being an iconic property that's guaranteed to make bank on sheer name recognition alone, it could present itself as a 'giant monster' film appropriate for the whole family, whereas GvK will undoubtedly feature some scary and violent content, probably some crude humor, too, if KOTM is anything to go by. Clifford could steal a lot of kids and families.

I think Clifford and Disney’s Raya the Last Dragon will eat each other out. There’s an audience for older people.

Sure- but considering that the last two Legendary Godzilla movies weren't exactly smash hits, this thing might need every ticket it can get. But it's too early to call, so we'll see.

Even before the box office numbers came in people were freaking out because Box Office Pro's tracking was so low.

Godzilla vs. Kong should make atleast or around $710M. Calling it now

Depends how well Eternals and the Disney movie track. I don't see Eternals setting the world on fire like other films KOTM had to go against so I say a $500-600 mil run. Thanksgiving and Christmas will help it, but I can't say for certain, but I see the name alone getting attention.

Edit: Changing it to a $390 mil MAX run.

I am just going to say 420/480$ million worldwide for Godzilla vs Kong, Opening weekend will be between 55$ and 65$ million.

If it's really good might crack 500$ million, sorry for the lower estimates but there realistic. I was completely off with KOTM thinking 600$ or 650$ million. I hope it does a lot better but time will tell.

I'd hope so too. But its funny seeing people dismiss certain predictions already despite seeing no marketing, early reviews, interviews, tweets, tracking. Literally nothing. Funny

Issues in Hong Kong aside, at least this film will do better China business in November opposed to March.

I firmly believe that Endgame and the rest of the Disney slate took down Kotm and this film will go back up to normal numbers. The two combined should do at least 600m as the first 2 alone did 500+.

Godzilla vs Kong is such an underdog of a film.

A lot of people, particularly on box office forums, are expecting it to bomb because of KOTM. Seems like everyone forgot about Aquaman being a comeback after Justice League.

I hope it proves them wrong.

I hope you're right, but "superhero movie with Game of Thrones guy" is a much easier sell, theoretically, than whatever GvK ends up going for.
