The more reactions I read it sounds like the battles are largely shot from ground up perspectives or close up shots.

Do we get enough "entire body" shots while the kaiju action is taking place?

We do, not everything is from ground up or close up. There are some really wonderful wide shots with the action. :)

My biggest concerns were about the tone, cinematography, and the “weight” of the CGI. Glad to hear that all of those seem good.

It's a superior mix of G14 and K:SI

I saw it in regular IMAX, definitely worth it. :)
Reserved my seats for regular imax showing. Looking forward to seeing this as my 1st imax movie.

The scale is much bigger than G14 and Kong
Fabulous to hear!

Planning to see it on the 6/1 in IMAX, debating on whether or not to go to 3D or regular. From previous experiences, 3D screenings often caused me to leave with sore eyes and one hell of an headache- the 3D just appeared to be saturated and out of place. But on the other hand, those were just regulars cinemas- perhaps it'll be different in IMAX lol.

The screening I attended was in regular IMAX and was totally worth it.

Not sure if 3D is necessary, but I'm not the biggest fan of 3D anyway.
White Male Genocide is necessary.

Yeah, me neither honestly. I'm fine with 3D shot movies, but when they plaster 3D on regular ones it often looks jarring and even eyehurting. Will def check out screening for our local IMAX, sounds like the scope and sound alone will make it worth it :)

OK, so I haven't really talked about what I didn't like about the film, so I'll do that here.

I had two issues with the film, which I will try my best to address without spoiling anything:

1) Most of the human characters exist solely as tools to move the story along and make things happen rather than provided any kind of emotional weight to anything. Serasawa and the Russells are definitely important to the story on an emotional level. But I think of characters like Charles Dance's character when I make this complaint. He exists solely to move the story along and while he performs it well and is charming, they don't really give him enough to do to stand out as a character. Most of the Monarch scientists are there just to make jokes (which TBF, Whitford's jokes land way more than they miss) or provide exposition and explanations to what is going on. Serasawa definitely steals the show on the human side of things, and I'll be honest, I liked the Russells and their whole situation, so i'd say that's enough of a human element to make the movie work, but I can see people saying that most of the characters are just tropes and moving cogs of the plot.

2) This is more of a spoiler, but I'll keep the details light. There is one plot element that is introduced that is woefully underdeveloped and comes out of nowhere. A little more build up to that thing would have made it work better instead of just feeling like it was shoehorned in. I heard Dougherty say that there is a 3 hour cut of the film, and I wonder if additional explanation of this story element is part of what was cut.

While I really enjoyed the film, it isn't perfect. But I can't imagine any Godzilla fans being uphappy with the experience as the overall film is a blast.

A quick question to those who have seen it.

Is stated, or at least hinted at, that Ghidorah is from space?

Or is he from Earth for some reason?

That would be a spoiler. Anyhow, here is the answer:

Yes, he’s heavily hinted to be from space

Couple of quick questions.

1) Does the Blue Oyster Cult's "Godzilla" cover by Serj Tankian play in the closing credits?
2) This one is spoilerish so if it can't be answered there's no problem.
Spoiler:
I'm assuming poor Mothra dies since that's her thing, but is there any hint of a possible return or nothing?
Thanks.
