Godzilla 2 tie-in comic speculation/discussion
So a tie in comic for Godzilla King of the Monsters is coming out in April! Should be a fun read for before seeing the movie. What do you guys hope to see?

I hope this explores Mothra's and Rodan's origins. King Ghidorah however should remain shrouded in mystery with his origin just being implied.
Hoping Rodan is revealed to had been behind the legends of Camazotz by the ancient Mayans.

Yeah, Godzilla wins... sometimes. I mean, he was killed by Dr. Serizawa's patented bubble-bath formula, heartburn, missiles, and poor box office returns, got his ass kicked by a drunken, circus-escaped gorilla, then he was beaten by two newborn worms, yeah some “king”.

I hope it's just like 20 pages of Godzilla sleeping from 2014-2019.

I really hope that it explores the first discoveries of the various titans. I just want to see the reactions of Graham, Russel, and whoever discovered rodan when they finally discover the titans from the cave paintings shown at the end of KSI, and recognize them - ESPECIALLY monster zero.

I think well see
Plot 1
-Godzilla and Ghidorah's first fight
-Godzilla and the original Mothra's relationship.
-Rodan possibly siding with Godzilla and Mothra against Ghidorah.
-The other Titans.
Plot 2
Godzilla and Rodan's initial conflict with the original Mothra getting invloved.
-Ghidorah falls from the sky
Plot 3
Godzilla fights other Titans in between 2014 and 2019 and the Monarch discovers Rodan, Mothra and Ghidorah.
Plot 4
Godzilla fights and defeats the other titans that will appear in the film.

I would absolutely love to see a detailed history of Monarch's titan discoveries, including the new ones that will possibly appear in the film.
Another thing I would like to see is the "titans inspired mythology" historical aspect to be more explored. Perhaps they could shed some light on the "Mothra" religion mentioned on the site, the sunken civilization that worshipped Godzilla and other things that could have potentially been inspired by titans.
Also, would be awesome if Godzilla and Ghidorah's original fight during the ice age (as implied by skull island) is shown.

Note to self: set aside 25 quid in April for Godzilla comic.
So its written by the same guy that did the Skull island comic.

Thank God! There's less of a chance it'll end up being the dubiously non-canonical mess Awakening was.kingkevzilla88 wrote:Note to self: set aside 25 quid in April for Godzilla comic.

You mean the one that implied Godzilla can change sizes and Serizawa is an immortal vampire?Gawdziller1954 wrote:Thank God! There's less of a chance it'll end up being the dubiously non-canonical mess Awakening was.kingkevzilla88 wrote:Note to self: set aside 25 quid in April for Godzilla comic.

Yeah i'm glad about that too lol. For the faults it might have, atleast "Birth of Kong" was consistent with the movie canon, and did not add anything that could potentially break it.
Surprised about the artist choice tho.

I wonder if this will be like Awakening with it being just one book, opposed to the comic Route Kong Skull Island took

I would prefer that greatly lol. Though considering it's the same dude behind "birth of kong", there's also a chance it might be a comic.PitchBlackProgress wrote:I wonder if this will be like Awakening with it being just one book, opposed to the comic Route Kong Skull Island took

Considering there's an option for 'hardcover', I'm gonna assume it's one book much like Godzilla: Awakening (only much better)

If that's the case, then it's great. The waiting time between the Kong issues was too long lol. Releasing it as one book is imo much better.Moogabunga wrote:Considering there's an option for 'hardcover', I'm gonna assume it's one book much like Godzilla: Awakening (only much better)
Hopefully, it's based on the FINAL version of the script this time

Re: Godzilla 2 tie-in comic speculation/discussion
Honestly, the easiest thing to do would just be a monsters origin book.
Just show what Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah were all like millions of years ago, and even depict how Ghidorah became frozen initially.
That's easy, right?
