Death or retreat or captured?

For the discussion of the upcoming Godzilla film by Legendary Pictures.

I'd say the enemy monster in the first film must be killed.Godzilla should at least be defeated or imprisoned, sort of like in the Return of Godzilla did it,like Godzilla falls into Mount Mihara's volcano and doesn't die but is imprisoned.
Though, this doesn't necessarily mean he has to be imprisoned in an volcano. He could be trapped onto an island surrounded by a force field or something like that. And something that seems to match Godzilla's strength can destroy the forcefield somehow from the outside.
It's a signature with words. What more can you want?

... Considering I was brought up and raised during the 'Leave no survivors' era in terms of enemies, I say let em live. Sure you can make the argument that Godzilla leaving his opponent alive is nothing special anymore, but I can make the same argument about Godzilla overkilling his opponents. How many opponents has Godzilla let live? 5 (6 if you include Gabara). How many has he set out to kill, but escaped? 5. How many has he killed/destroyed? 25. How many left ambiguous? 4... I think it's time to lay Serial Killer Goji to rest...

I honestly never really liked it when they let enemy beasts get away. However, if they were to return for a planned sequel, like Starscream in the Transformers films, I would be all for it.

ya know, i think it should end a little like this:
"Godzilla was blown back into the sea, the sheer force of the(Insert random weapon here)creating a large gash in the behemoth reptilians chest. the monster king was bleed severely.just barley managing to keep on his feet in the teal blue ocean, the monster king let one final roar of fury, and fell into the water, sinking to the bottom, dead. the crowd stared in awe, then let out crys of joy.

bottom of the ocean:
Godzillas chest *Moving up and down* pum puh, pum puh, pum puh *Godzilla theme music* zooming in on godzillas eye* *once close enough that godzillas eye fills up most of the screen, it shoots open. 3 seconds after that, movie ends*

but thats just me.
The enemies gate is down.

I believe that Minya should be the enemy and should be dispatched in a manner similar to the fetus creature at the end of Eraserhead.

Maybe it could be like Batman Begins/Dark Knight... one guy dies (Ducard, Two-Face), but the other lives (Scarecrow, Joker). That's if Godzilla fights two monsters, though. You could have one over the top villain (like Ghidorah) and a more down to earth one (Varan or something).

But leave enough of his body intact so if they find out they can make another movie they can have KG brought back as MKG for the new film. ;)

I really don't want to see Mecha King Ghidorah again. It was silly enough the first time.

I'm starting to think I'm the only one who thinks MKG has the potential to be awesome if done by the right people.

If they go with an original kaiju, have the Big G kill it. It'll effectively demonstrate Godzilla's power and lead into a sequel where he can fight one or more tougher Toho opponents, preferably King Ghidorah or Gigan.

^^Same. Gigan would be f***ing oddball. I don't even need to describe how ridiculous an enemy Megalon would be.

Actually, no. I just think a Mecha King Ghidorah would be a great plotline.

If it is Anguirus,Rodan or Mothra let them escape and join Godzilla later.

If it is Gigan,Ghidorah,Ebirah,Megaguirus or Megalon let them escape and make the join the big bad of the next movie.

If it is Gabara,DIE DIE DIIIIIEEE!!!!
