How would TK feel about a Pacific Rim crossover?
With the news that Legendary plans to extend Pacific Rim into a franchise, this idea naturally came up immediately.
Personally I'd love a crossover only if Godzilla ends up teaming up with the Jaegers against a bigger threat.

It could only work if a new Godzilla appears in PR, as PR's timeline is incompatible with the Monsterverse.

Ew, they have completely different approaches and tones, it'd be like mixing the MCU with the DCEU.

Yeah, no, it'd have to be a completely new Godzilla.
They should have planned it from the start, because it could've been really cool, but not at this point.

I'm very opposed to it. The films aren't only in separate universes, the tones, themes, and general feel of both franchises are wildly different.

I have no desire to see Godzilla cross over with any new franchise these days.

Lots of joyless people here.
Set it in the Pacific Rim world, have a portal experiment accidentally bring Godzilla through, and then a ton of Jaeger/Kaiju kickass action.

Pacific rim and godzilla crossing over would be awful for anything other than a bit of dumb, fun, but pacific rim can do dumb fun by itself. Plus, with these new jeagers and kaijus, godzilla would get royally demolished.

I wouldn't want to see the MonsterVerse Godzilla crossover with Pacific Rim, but a new Godzilla could work, I think. The GA would be confused as hell, though.

Either an non-canon crossover movie or a completely different incarnation of Godzilla, one that exists in the Pacific Rim verse.
Let's be honest, those are the only two ways we can see that happening unless the MonsterVerse suddenly somehow got magically rebooted.

NOPE.
It would have to be a new Godzilla, maybe a classic "villain" version of him- killing both kaiju and jeagers. They would give most Toho Godzilla's a long afternoon.

Sure why not. As long as it's an original design and not just 2014 Goji used again.

It'd be fine as like a one off that isn't part of the current universes I think.SG-17 wrote:With the news that Legendary plans to extend Pacific Rim into a franchise, this idea naturally came up immediately.

Re: How would TK feel about a Pacific Rim crossover?
It would be hard to fit the secretive, serious nature of the MonsterVerse with the world of Pacific Rim. It would never work.

Re: How would TK feel about a Pacific Rim crossover?
I was not at all a fan of PR, so this idea doesn't really interest me, but if they were to do it, I think the best way would be to lean into the absurdity of the concept and make it a satire, much as Toho wisely did with the original KKvsG.
Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.
