Man...One can truly just dream...
Whoever made that should also added Loch Ness Monster, The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms, Hollow Earth, The Giant Behemoth, The Black Scorpion, Them!, The Valley of Gwangi and War of the Gargantuas.

I don't know if I'd be able to handle a wait between any two-parter movies, especially any inspired by DAM. Assuming this goes beyond 2020, a gathering of future Monsterverse monsters would be a dream come true.Moogabunga wrote:Found this on Twitter - would be incredible (Just to clarify, I know it's not real )

I raise the bet with these titles: Moby Dick, Reptilicus, Gorgo, The Giant Claw,GodzillaFan1990's wrote:Man...One can truly just dream...

I love seeing these fan-made Monsterverse Phase timeline pics. Still hoping the universe continues after GvK.Moogabunga wrote:Found this on Twitter - would be incredible (Just to clarify, I know it's not real )
A Destroy All Monsters two-parter finale would be incredible, but obviously too much like Infinity War.

That chart is insanely mediocre, it doesn’t excite me at all
Give me some Gargantuas or something

Yeah, Godzilla wins... sometimes. I mean, he was killed by Dr. Serizawa's patented bubble-bath formula, heartburn, missiles, and poor box office returns, got his ass kicked by a drunken, circus-escaped gorilla, then he was beaten by two newborn worms, yeah some “king”.

Well I didn't add those since they weren't Warner Bros. properties. Moby Dick could however work as unlikely as that is due to being in the Public Domain, hence why I had Loch Ness Monster listed among those.marcdrac wrote:I raise the bet with these titles: Moby Dick, Reptilicus, Gorgo, The Giant Claw,

Re: MonsterVerse: Beyond 2020
Speaking of which, it's my opinion that we should think of the MonsterVerse less like the MCU and more like its own thing. A lot of what I see is proposed in the same "phases" and "Avengers" type linearity that the MonsterVerse doesn't need to have. To be clear, I don't think they have to avoid that either. Simply saying Legendary doesn't need to map it the way Marvel did.LegendaryGoji wrote: A Destroy All Monsters two-parter finale would be incredible, but obviously too much like Infinity War.
On another note, if a company would like to make more Godzilla movies after Godzilla vs Kong, I wonder if Legendary would renew with Toho or if WB would do it directly (under, say, New Line) if Legendary didn't want to anymore. Alternatively, Legendary is with Universal now so if Legendary made more movies then maybe they'd move to Universal like Pacific Rim (or a new series with Legendary-Universal would start).
Obviously we don't know but thinking aloud over here.

Since it’s been pretty much confirmed that this continuity will discontinue following GvK, we might as well lock this thread up.

Stop fucking saying this shit. This hasn't been confirmed and it's getting pretty tiring hearing people run around like Chicken fucking Little spouting nonsense doom-and-gloom rumors.

OK! Other monsters in the public domain, Jersey Devil, Yeti, Typhon, Nandi Bears, Cerberus, Mothman, Leviathan, Bunyip, Hydra and do not know if Cthulhu?GodzillaFan1990's wrote:Well I didn't add those since they weren't Warner Bros. properties. Re: MonsterVerse: Beyond 2020
There's some dispute about the copyright status of the majority of Lovecraft's stories, coming down largely to the question of whether the copyrights were renewed under the U.S. Copyright Act of 1976 (the first major extension of copyrights). However, no documentation has ever been uncovered, so legally any copyright claims aren't liable to hold up in court, and the stories are generally treated as public domain.marcdrac wrote:OK! Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

Re: MonsterVerse: Beyond 2020
Cthulhu would be totally out of place in the Monsterverse.
Unless you remade his origin, you can't fit him how he appears in the Lovecraft stories.

I definitely would love a Yeti based kaiju for one. Perfect foe for Kong. Whereas Kong lives in the tropical part of Skull Island. On the high mountain tops could be a Yeti based Kong he could fight.marcdrac wrote:OK! Re: MonsterVerse: Beyond 2020
Changing the origin of Cthulhu would also just change his character in the process, so it's best to keep Lovecraft within Lovecraft (or at least, Lovecraft themes which the MonsterVerse does not have).ManuJM1997 wrote:Cthulhu would be totally out of place in the Monsterverse.

I feel like most of the people who want a Godzilla vs. Cthulhu or just Cthulhu in the MonsterVerse in general don't actually know a whole lot about the character beyond what pop culture has told them.

Almost no animals/monsters from cryptozoology make sense either creatively or financially. Same for most established non-Toho properties.

Re: MonsterVerse: Beyond 2020
I do not see any problem in that they use beings of cryptozoology, even more I see them more logical that they were part of the MonsterVerse, with the direction that the plot has many of them would be perfect, as ancestral beings of the atomic age with Godzilla.Tohosaurus wrote:Almost no animals/monsters from cryptozoology make sense either creatively or financially.
