Preparing Ourselves for Kong: Skull Island

Post by H-Man »

So, how do you all plan on preparing for the movie? Watch every single Kong movie ever made? Some other marathon?

I'll probably watch the following movies:

King Kong '33
Son of Kong
King Kong Escapes
King of the Lost World

I don't have the nerve to watch Dino de Laurentiis films.

I don't get some of these threads. Wouldn't this be able to be tackled in another thread?
Sadly, I must make you aware that anything I say is my opinion.

Contrary to popular belief, I did like Godzilla 2014

Hmmm never thought about this. I planned on watching King Kong vs. Godzilla for when the 2020 one nears, but never alone this.

In that case though. I guess I'll watch the King Kong movies I currently own as well as getting 2005's King Kong which is out at one of the stores at my mall.

Yeah, probably will watch all the Kong films the week of release. I'll probably watch G14 as well since it's in the same universe.

Watching *at least* the original. And staying far away from the spoiler thread(s) that inevitably crop up.

At least I'm going to rewatch the 2005 one just to compare how different they are.

Gonna be watching the 1933 original, Son of Kong, G'14, and Apocalypse Now, seeings how that was an influence on Roberts.

This is what I'll be doing as well.

I love having big franchise marathons before new installments so I'll probably be watching -
King Kong, Son of Kong, Mighty Joe Young (honorable mention)
King Kong vs. Godzilla, King Kong Escapes (original Japanese versions hopefully)
King Kong 76, King Kong Lives (they're both impossibly lame but I try to be a completist)
Mighty Joe Young 98 (why not), King Kong 05 Extended Edition

Hopefully some new Blu-rays come out for some of these!
