Hopefully Kong's appearance resembles more his original look than as a giant silverback.

Yeah, him simply being a giant silverback is one of my least favorite elements from the 2005 film.

I think he should be a giant ape-like monster, not an outright giant gorilla.

Kong has so much character, especially the 33 incarnation. They can and should capture that while updating him.

Indeed, hopefully they should Kong needs to have his character, but that shouldn't be a problem as he has had character in every movie.

King Kong Escapes, King Kong (1976), King Kong Lives. All three give him extra personality in his appearance beyond just being an ape. Hell, KKE even uses a similar suit to the 62 suit.

Actually, for a water suit they slapped the 67 head on the 62 suit creating a horrifying hideous abomination. actually I was talking about in appearance but strangely I had forgotten about KKE.. how could I ever forget. I haven't seen King Kong (1976) in years and I haven't seen King Kong Lives I shall have to see them eventually, but indeed while King Kong (2005) had a lot of personality he was lacking some of the stuff 33 and others had.

This. I was never a fan of the 2005 Kong design. I hope they play around with the design some more rather than restricting it to "unusually large ape".
