When GE said it was a soldier's tale, based on his previous film Monsters, I thought (and several others around here) he might use the same playbook and make G14 a character based film. Is it clarified yet? If not, we're not going to get anywhere, unfortunately.
I never said "it was supposed to be this" or "he said it would be this". I said based on the info at hand at the time it MIGHT be a character film. I think you are confusing an empirical statement (which was never made) with speculation.
And Tymon nothing wrong with being intelligent. For example eabaker made a comment earlier. I think he's very smart and like reading his stuff. Seems like a down to earth guy. For me it's about approach and how you convey that intelligence. Just a pattern I've noticed for several years.
Edit- I just looked back at all our posts and not once did I say with absolute certainty that GE meant for is to be character film. I reiterated over and over what we "might" have got based on his comments. We've driven this thing into China by now.
