Re: More original kaiju? Or enough with the MUTOs
When I first heard about King Gidorah, Rodan and Mothra in the second movie I was excited (and still am but only because of toys of them).
Now I wish they would make only movies with new kaijus. I don't really like the idea of just taking the (still) original japanese monsters and americanizing them.
And after the actually pretty weak Godzilla from the first movie, I don't want to imagine what they will do to make Rodan and Mothra weaker so they couldn't outdo Godzilla, which would lead to a weaker King Gidorah.
The MUTOs were pretty good enemies for an american Godzilla-movie, so I would like to see what else is living outside of the Japanese kaijuverse.

I wouldn't say he was weak, he was more like an old man who just got out of retirement (because thats pretty much what happened) he just needs to get back in the swing, yes when I first heard that they were going to be in the next movie I immediately thought 20 inch tall deluxe ghidorah, 8 inch deluxe Mothra, and 10 inch deluxe Rodan (I have a 12 inch tall g14 who is pretty lonely and needs some friends) and I agree with you on the MUTOs they are pretty good kaiju and frankly were the best characters in the 2014 film and yes, more new kaiju pleaseDramorg wrote:When I first heard about King Gidorah, Rodan and Mothra in retirementmovie I was excited (and still am but only because If toys of them).

That Godzilla was no way weak, so I doubt they will make Rodan, Mothra, or Ghidorah weak (like they ever been super powerful). If Legendary made two new enemies of Godzilla a challenge, I doubt they will make a big name like King Ghidorah less of a challenge.Dramorg wrote:When I first heard about King Gidorah, Rodan and Mothra in the second movie I was excited (and still am but only because of toys of them).

Some ass jockey decided to not crop dust the crowd, dude let off some straight napalm and cleared a 20 ft radius and didn’t flinch, he just moved up closer. I prayed Sandra wouldn’t catch a whiff, talk about Endgame....just gross.

Godzilla 2014 is actually one of the most powerful G incarnations.

I would actually rather see how an American film would handle someone like Ghidorah than an all new creation. Not that I don't want any more new monsters, but I don't want them overflowing this universe with OC kaiju.
New updates to previously established kaiju like Gorosaurus, Kumonga, or Baragon would be cool as well.

I say let American re-imagine the classics like Mothra, Rodan, Ghidorah, Anguirus, and, dare I say it, Mechagodzilla.
If Toho makes future films after Resurgence, I would like to see some new creatures there.

I can't believe that Godzilla was the only surviving member of its species, but if we continue conducting nuclear tests, it's possible that another Godzilla might appear somewhere in the world again.

I don't mind new monsters at all, but I'd prefer that they bring back some of the classic monsters while they have the chance. I'm excited to see Legendary's take on Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidorah. I'd love to see their take on others like Anguirus and Mechagodzilla.

I quite like what they set up with the MUTOs and honestly wouldn't mind some classic monsters re-imagined with a connection to them. Sort of like, in a reverse sense, how the '90s Gamera films established Gyaos as a species and tied Iris into them. There were a lot of fan designs connecting Gigan to the MUTOs before the film launched, which I think makes perfect sense and its a pretty cool way to keep the universe coherent.

Re: More original kaiju? Or enough with the MUTOs
I for one don't care much for the Muto. So if they do new monsters I hope they take a completely different approach. Still part of the allure of a big budget American series is seeing classic kaiju reinvented with Hollywood quality special effects.

I'd love to see a new comic series or an animated movie/series with new monsters.
They could make a real interesting pin of original creations if given the chance.
It wont happen though...

Remember this fan design of Gigan as MUTO? would like to see this design under a new name as a complete reference towards the classic japanese movies. I wouldn't even mind anymore that they wouldn't create new characters.
