Good catch sir, beat me to it. Though actually that entry is #29, and this morning grows to #30 as Mr. Lanning has been double credited as a co-producer as well.

Now let's keep the crew ramping up after Wanda made me want to stick forks in my eyes today
"And now you will walk to him, and you will battle him to the death. Green and Brown. Fight night. The greatest gladiator match in the history of the world: reptile versus primate; day versus night; King of Monsters versus Kong of Skull Island!"
Definitely looks like shit's happening at Blackhall Studios

Not till after filming probably. Though my money would be on Douglas Pipes. He's Dougherty's go to composer, having scored both Trick R Treat and Krampus.

Forgot what his work sounded like in those two films, but I trust him. Everybody started freaking out when Alexandre Desplat was confirmed as G14's composer, but I thought his work was alright

Whoever they get to score it, I PRAY that they use some of the classic Ifukube themes, reworkings/modernizations of those iconic themes could be amazing.
But I wonder, the 98 film and the 2014 film did not have the themes....is there a possibility that Toho doesn't permit them to be used in the non-Toho productions? That would seem really odd to me.
I was let down by Desplat's score for G14, it was good, but I would have greatly preferred Michael Giacchino, the single theme he did for Cloverfield was classic Kaiju theme music.
"I'm saying a prayer, George. A prayer for the whole world."
The reason why we most likely won't be getting Ifukube's themes in any conceivable form is because that will likely cost extra money to use.
I'd be fine if we didn't hear any recognizable themes. They are uniquely "Toho," for lack of a better term. This is its own universe, and the music isn't going to be a deal breaker for me. I care more about the entertainment value and narrative structure. The latter doesn't have to be flawless, but it needs to be reasonable.
Everything else is icing on the cake.

Kong is Ness and Skull Island is apart of Undertale.
I hope Brian Tyler, Junkie XL, Hans Zimmer or Micheal Giacchino are the composers. Some Ifukube tracks would be great. Maybe some tracks from GTTHM could play during a fight between Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra and King Ghidorah. Heck, GTTHM music would be great at any moment, since the film is basically a remake of it.
If you have digital copy codes for movies you want to give away, I'll gladly take them!

It opens with Shinji, Asuka, and Rei walking along the lifeless, red earth. Suddenly the ground begins to shake.
Godzilla bursts from the ground, killing the 3 pilots. Godzilla will then battle his newest opponent...

I read on one of the postings on ''Comingsoon.net'' that Junkie XL was going to be scoring Godzilla 2. It was naming his upcoming projects and he was attached to it.
FOUND IT - He is scoring Godzilla 2 and Spectral for Legendary
Official posting - While the first Deadpool was perhaps better known for its needle drops (DMX, “Angel of the Morning”) than its score, Junkie XL made a big contribution to the film. He’s in no danger of running out of work though, as he’s set to score Legendary’s Spectral and Godzilla 2, Sony’s The Dark Tower and DC Films’ Justice League. He’s best known for his work on Mad Max: Fury Road and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

If he was actually scoring the film, I think we would know it by now. More sources would be reporting it.
Plus, it's the director that chooses the composer

I just wanna know who the "main producer" is now. Is it still Thomas Tull even though he is no longer the CEO of the company (we were told that he will still be producing the Monsterverse films), Mary Parent, or Alex Garcia?
The trade publications keep telling us that Alex Garcia is the man in charge of the whole operation, but I wonder why he is still only being credited as an executive producer. I must not know enough about film

Junkie XL could compose but that was well before Dougherty was hired as director. Besides composers are rarely if ever announced that early. Like Ryguy said, the director usually chooses the composer. Hell sometimes composers are changed halfway through production. One of the better known examples being when Peter Jackson dropped Howard Shore from King Kong when Shore's score didn't fit with Jackson's vision. Anything regarding composers should be dismissed until after filming finishes or when the director themselves announces it.
