Every thread made by a mod/admin has been permanently deleted due to a hacker.

It's a damn shame.

I'd be happy seeing them appear in the next film.

Maser tech already exists IRL I thought...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maser

Unless you mean actual maser tanks, not sure if we have those yet, and if we do, I wasn't aware of it.

I know for a fact the real U.S. military has successfully tested Lightning Guns:

which aren't those kinda the same thing?

I don't think it'll ever happen. But I HOPE it'll happen.

I recommend you changing the thread name to "The Godzilla 2 Speculation Thread."

Here are some predictions I have for the future:

-I think WB and Legendary are going to give us a trilogy, with the third movie coming in 2022 (when apparently their rights to the Godzilla franchise expire).

-For a while I thought the third film was going to be a DAM remake, but now I'm thinking it could be another Godzilla VS Mecha-Godzilla movie, simply because Legendary only has rights to 5 monsters (3 of those already revealed).

When was this confirmed?

No. He said it was just his predictions. I'd like to think there wouldn't be another 4 year gap between the third and fourth films.

Maybe by the third movie it sounds feasible.

I read a while back ago here in the forums, that Legendary had the rights for Godzilla for only 10 years, from 2012 to 2022. It was also when it was said that they had rights to 5 Toho monsters including Godzilla. I forgot who said that, and where that was said, but I know it was somewhere here. Hmm, maybe it was a false rumor now.

I speculate that Chris will bring us some factual information when it becomes available, and I'll bring scuttlebutt about cast and crew.

How do you know when the rights expire?

And yeah, there's a trilogy.
Well, it was just something misunderstood. :P

There's only going to be a trilogy if the second film performs financially, if the second film bleeds cash we won't see it. Lets not put the cart before the horse.

So the movie's gross won't matter?

For this one, The cart can be WAAAY in front of the horse. Like miles in front of it. So far in front of it, it's gonna be a dot in the distance.
