i hope the production team takes note of the fan reaction to Skull Island King Kong and the 2017 Megazord, and keeps that in mind while designing the new monsters.

I think a lot of fans get the wrong idea when designing potential Legendary or Shin kaiju, that just because the 2014 design was thick and sturdy they all must be that way, or that all Shin kaiju might be burnt and crispy looking. I mean, look at how different Legendary Godzilla and Kong are. They really pushed for a revised, crocodilian Millennium Godzilla while Kong is basically a modern version of the O'Brien model.

The only feature unique in all three of those drawings is the Ghidorah's extra set of wings. Otherwise, Ghidorah is essentially just his Showa incarnation, Mothra looks exactly like how she did in GMK, and Rodan is identical to his Final Wars appearance

And as I've reiterated time and time again, Ghidorah shouldn't have hair or fangs

I'm kinda with you on this. I want Legendary to put their own spin on these classic Toho monsters and not just recycle Toho's designs. I want them to look as different from their Toho looks as Legendary Godzilla did from his, but still be recognizable as Rodan, Mothra and Ghidorah.

I agree, G14's design was different but easily recognizable. The same should be done with the other classic kaiju they acquired. Kongs design is a breath of fresh air for the hcharacter. Different from the 05 version but easily recognizable from its old designs.

I agree as well that Legendary should follow the formula they did with Godzilla. He's very unique when compared to his Japan counterpart yet familiar. Not only do I agree but I expect it of legendary.

Why not?

Hair looks really dumb while I just don't care for the fangs. Makes him look too much like a cat

I'd rather they lean towards being uncreative, rather than go the opposite direction and end up with more "Zillas". But that's just me.

I don't really see a problem if KG has hair or fur. Chinese dragons for instance are often depicted with hair.

I think you might need to look a bit closer, there's a lot of cool, smart anatomical details included in those designs that make them unique. Obviously the Legendary designs won't look as much like the established Toho designs but veering in that direction or keeping them in mind would certainly make me happy.

And as I've reiterated time and time again, Ghidorah shouldn't have hair or fangs

I imagine Ghidorah will be proportionately closer to Cretaceous or GMK Ghidorah than the Heisei or Showa. For some reason I really feel Ghidorah will be given shorter necks than we're usually use to. I could be wrong, and I'd much prefer something like this....

It's an almost perfect hybrid of Asian and European styles. I also love how each head is slightly different. Kinda like a cross between Showa Ghidorah and Smaug.

I would really hate it if Ghidorah became a golden three-headed Smaug.

Yep yep yep, me too! I also like the coloration: kind of a drab greenish like Keizer Ghidorah to contrast with the more magnificent, mystical color scheme of other Ghidorahs

I like that Ghidorah has an overwhelming, glorious presence in those early films, he has 3 heads, twin tails and huge fanlike wings that fill up half the screen. His golden scales signify power and wealth. Meanwhile the monsters of earth seem like drab misfits by comparison, Godzilla has his rocky skin texture, Rodan is rusty red, Mothra's larval form is the ugly duckling to her adult form. And they beat Ghidorah together!

Yeah, a more dignified Ghidrah like the Showa version would be great. Ghidrah is such a fantastical monsters, hopefully Legendary won't make him too basic for "realism".

This artist made me love this design even more. This is the type of qualities I would hope to see with Ghidorah: very malevolent and alien looking but still keeps this imperial and regal look.

That artwork is really awesome, but it would honestly look a lot better if ghidorah's legs didn't looks like he was trying hold in his bladder contents. Pointed far too much inward.

Mothra feels very Eternal Mothra-like, I love the look. Fuzzy suits her well. The detail on Ghidorah's also fantastic. Hard to comment on Rodan, though I do like the longer tail.
