I thought everyone figured it was.

The Art of Destruction book even said it was. I don't know how people cold be convinced otherwise.

Serizawa and Graham studied Godzilla enough to know it was another Godzilla. Plus Graham asking "Is it him" was about as much confirmation anyone could possibly need.

It was just pretty obvious for me. I didn't even have to read it to know it was a Godzilla skeleton in the trailers.
What do you call it when a railroad engineer moves toward a psychic?

Re: Confirmed: Philippine skeleton was Godzilla species
I kind of viewed it as another species of Godzilla. In the video they said another Godzilla species, rather than another Godzilla. Kind of how Nile and saltwater crocodiles are both crocodiles in the same genus, but are different species. The skeleton drawing showed that the head is larger in proportion to the body compared to the living Godzilla, and the spines are different.
So the skeleton would be from a different but closely related species to the living Godzilla, but regardless it is still a Godzilla.
That would be cool though if they brought it back to life, because it would be two different looking species of Godzilla fighting each other rather than him fighting another clone.

Same here. People were point blank rejecting the idea that it was a Godzilla, despite the fact that part of the point of the scene was to establish that the Mutos were natural enemies and a threat to Godzilla.Living Corpse wrote:Nope. How else would they get that incredibly detailed drawing of his skeletal structure?

Re: Confirmed: Philippine skeleton was Godzilla species
Another difference in the Philippine Godzilla was that its nostrils are more forward oriented. The surviving Godzilla has nostrils that are oriented toward the top of the snout. It also has a shorter tail and longer forelimbs compared to the living Godzilla. Maybe this Godzilla was more of a tunneling species, while the current Godzilla is more of a deep-sea dweller.

The smaller spines of this Godzilla would also be less of a hindrance when digging, compared to the living Godzilla which needs needs the larger spines to act like dorsal fins.

I really hope these details were intentional, possibly leaving the door open for more designs/species of Godzilla to appear in this series. Who knows?

See, this is what I've been thinking....if they ever wanted to work in the MechaGodzilla concept, this would be the way to go about it.Living Corpse wrote:Adam vs Kiryu.

I hope so. However if they aren't intentional, they could build off from them make them matter to the story.jobalexang wrote:I really hope these details were intentional, possibly leaving the door open for more designs/species of Godzilla to appear in this series. Who knows?

Where did this "Adam" nickname come from?
