GFW showed us a PG-13 rating isn't hardcore enough.

Just because the movie was bad to you doesn't mean the blasted RATING is bad! For pete's sake, do you now hate violence and Godzilla because it was associated with GFW?

-_- -_- -_-

Do you really think JVM's serious? Look at the guy's signature, for Obama's sake.

On topic, an R rating would probably be shot down instantly by Toho...it just doesn't feel right. Not everything needs T&A or HARDCORE GORE!111!!!

I'm half-serious. The GFW reference was more of a joke, but I do still feel it should be R-rated. I don't expect it though.

I voted an R - Rating, only on the grounds that IF it may be necessary, only for violence and intense action/violence, moderate use of mild language, some sort of humor, and possibly scary images if it would work in the context of the plot and allow the proper emphasis to make a scene interesting and putting the audience on the edge of their seats.

As a guy, I like a good looking woman, but I agree that Godzilla is NOT a series of fan service/porn/sex/etc.

Nudity has made its incursions in the series, but they were all out of place and really shouldn't have been there.

At all.

Hopefully there won't be any stupid sex/masturbation/porn cracks like Michael Bay's mediocre Transformers movies.

"...I wasn't talking about body length."

I voted PG-13, it's perfect for this kind of movie. Godzilla movies are wide range, for everyone.

The only possible way I could see this being rated R is if Gigan is Godzilla's opponent and they go WAY overboard on his Ax Crazyness...which admitingly wouldn't be out of question for Gigan.

PG-13. Enough to get some good, solid monster violence in, but not so much that parents won't take their children to it.

PG-13 is going to be the rating.

Just so they can make toys, games, clothes, books, etc.

While everyone else here says that's this thread is pointless, I'd say it's something worth talking about. I mean, by today's standards, who knows what the rating of this film will be (most likely PG-13, since it can attract a large audience). It is just mainly due to the fact about possible R rating (which I doubt, since these guys are more true fans than the fellows at Sony in 1998).

The reason I believe it's pointless, is because the rating of a film can only be decided when the MPAA reviews the finished film. Even if the studio is aiming for a particular audience, the rating can't be speculated.

^Ethan... the question that Dynomy had and point of this post is what people think the film SHOULD be rated. It's an opinion. Not what they think it will be rated. However, the point is to post your opinions, so it's fine that you think it's pointless. Just thought I might clarify that.

Agreed.

*I* would like to see an R-rated Godzilla, but I think the best way to go, in Legendary's hands, is PG-13.

Yeah, that's true. But here's an opinion, so I don't think I need to explain any further than that.

Legendary Pictures is not retarded, they will make sure that this movie is PG-13 material. Why? More Gross Revenue(money earned). Think about it, if its PG, adults and teens will think it's just another shitty kids movie(not enough gross revenue). If its rated R, kids and teens won't be able to see it(again, not enough gross revenue). And if its XXX, well we all already know what that will be like. :sigh:

Well than again, Godzilla is in essence just sweaty Japanese men wrestling at each other in tight fitting latex animal costumes. :P
