Sex and nudity doesn't really belong in the G series, and I'd like it to stay that way. Sure, it's just my opinion, but I like it.

Agreed. While a hot actress can help a movie pretty significantly, Godzilla isn't a fanservice (or general sex) kind of series. The only nudity the series has ever had (GvsM truck pinups, Katsura's operation scene and GvsSG) came off as somewhat to completely unnecessary. It's just not that type of franchise (one of the few Japan seems to have left).

On topic, an R rating would probably be shot down instantly by Toho...it just doesn't feel right. Not everything needs T&A or HARDCORE GORE!111!!!

It doesn't make market sense is the issue. Unless the movie is ridiculously popular, the R rating drives away the bulk of the theater-going population: teenagers. They provide an incredible amount of revenue. On the flip side, with the death of the G movie, the PG rating doesn't grab them either, relying on children and parents. PG-13 has been the key rating to shoot for and push the limits of. Especially for summer blockbusters.

PG-13 is the most logical choice. The nearest to it getting an R would be if they had an unrated version on Dvd (allows them to milk it even more with the hardcore fans and the teenagers that like Hardcore stuff.)

But really, PG-13 sounds reasonable. An R rating would be...odd. Cloverfield had good reasons to be given such a rating. Gore in a Godzilla movie? Not going to work...

I'm half-serious. The GFW reference was more of a joke, but I do still feel it should be R-rated. I don't expect it though.

I voted an R - Rating, only on the grounds that IF it may be necessary, only for violence and intense action/violence, moderate use of mild language, some sort of humor, and possibly scary images if it would work in the context of the plot and allow the proper emphasis to make a scene interesting and putting the audience on the edge of their seats.

As a guy, I like a good looking woman, but I agree that Godzilla is NOT a series of fan service/porn/sex/etc.

Nudity has made its incursions in the series, but they were all out of place and really shouldn't have been there.

Hopefully there won't be any stupid sex/masturbation/porn cracks like Michael Bay's mediocre Transformers movies.
