Did The Military/Scientist Ever Discover Godzilla's Liar?

Did they? Wantanabe's character never stated where he specifically came from but on the other hand, is it possible the military tagged Godzilla with a GPS tracking device so they could discover where his lair is? Kind of like we tag and track whales, sharks, ect.

But seriously, no. MONARCH never found Godzilla's lair; he disappeared following the atomic bombings in the Pacific. That's why Dr. Serizawa is visiting the Universal Western mining site in the beginning of the film, he was looking for evidence of Godzilla. I can't tell you if MONARCH (aside from Dr. Serizawa and his protege) thought Godzilla was deceased, since they become a non-issue following the MUTO's awakening.

I don't think he was tagged.

It's not even certain that Godzilla has a lair, though. It's possible.
